No onsite services permitted in SOL by order of Junta !
Girls advised me on Thursday that all services must be done in a ST hotel a 2 minute walk away. Standard service is 700 + 200 which includes the ST room.
No service even in the little room next to the toilet.
It is unknown by the girls how long the Junta will enforce this rule.
The advised absolutely no way around it other than to go to the ST room. Girls looked very unghappy

If they take the stance they seem to have taken in HuaHin, lots of changes could be in store, especially if they go after workers under 18, and charge the owners of the clubs hiring them with human sex trafficking (this is a very real possibility in the next few weeks), in a move to get off the bottom of the list of the worst forced human trafficking countries.

For the one's who think the army is serious about stoping scams & corruption...
Last week I was eating in Subway on soi 7/1 and saw 4 soldiers approach the touts that work there (you know, the guy you cant walk past whitout them calling you "massaze massaze" showing some crumpled publicity for a massage place). The soldiers looked at first very threatening, two were armed, one was taking pictures of the touts and one showing official looking papers. Then after about 1mn only the one with the papers remained, he motionned for the touts to sit with him in front of Vasu exchange. Then he talked to the touts for maybe 5mn, everyone smiling.
Cant say I saw money change hands, but how often do you see Thai guy exchanging long handshake?
Then the last soldier left and the touts carried on with their "massaze massaze" routine....
It is just a show and the army making sure some of the money go their way.
Probably an army officer relative run the ST hotel where you are forced to go now if you want to be customer at SOL

It is truly disheartening if onsite services are no longer permitted in SOL. The very reason behind my visits to SOL is that I could do the deed in the bar. I do hope situation returns back to normal soon.

Didn't the same thing happen quite a few years ago. Don't remember the exact dates, but it might have been about the time of the last junta--no inservice, everyboday had to go to a short time hotel in the area. Lasted about 2-3 months and then everything reverted to normal.

Not sure what you meant by great time publicly, however, I am told by my contacts there that the shakedown hasn't affected coastal areas like Pattaya and Phuket much. I cannot confirm since I haven't been there myself.
