Is it just my impression, or is SoL seeing a big growth in fans and BTFers willing to dedicate posts and praise to the place? My last impressions was that it had really gone downhill since Star of Love days (more tame, poorer quality of service, ladies, etc.).
I think I need to revisit this place soon.

Just got back from a quick visit.
L** ( the younger one with the generous rack ) and O** on early morning duty.
My favourite not there yet.
Yes, localguy, I think you deserve a re-visit not only because the standard and quality are unsurpassable, but the days of the other bar are long gone and the Star of Light, although it has always been my local and the only place to go, has risen to greater heights since that time. A few girls have come and gone in that time, but the dedicated team are there and once that buzzer announces your arrival, they are determined that when you leave, you'll be a happy man.
Go today.

And yes, I think you are right.
It was so busy a few years ago and then dipped.
But now there seems to be a resurgence and on some days at certain times, I can hardly get in the joint (?).

If you read the thread MSB, you'll be able to understand the reason for not posting their name in full.
It's really a question of respect, especially since at times, us guys go into graphic detail about what and what did not happen.
It is also reflected somewhat in the fact that most guys use a handle and not their real name and address.
A mention of an M** or an S** or a G*** in the context of a particular bar, with physical descriptions is sufficent for any guy to identify the lady when he visits, if he so wishes. So no frustration there.
Also, maybe if a guy happens to strike it up with a girl from any one of these bars and in turns out that he sponsors her or even settles in with her, he doesn't want to read her sexual history. And I would think she wouldn't want him to either. Relationships in this setting are fragile enough.
I wouldn't care to give a lady with whom I'm going to settle down, my complete sexual history. There'd be a lot of explaining to do and understanding to reach for.
What we tend to forget is that these ladies are not pieces of meat for rent, but individual human beings with lives and families of their own, friends and hopes and wishes and dreams. And while they may be engaged in the sex industry at the moment to some degree or other, they also have their world in which to live and their families and the ones who love them to return to.

Hi, MadStockBrocker, seems like I haven't seen you post here for a spell. To expand on what Debaucher (in quite a nice post) said, you'll have to go back about 10 pages; there was a big discussion about this on this thread and another one concerning SOL in Field Reports called "Star Girl from Star of Love Bar" I believe. Anyway the conversation had many contributors, was most fascinating, and there should be a Discovery show special coming out on it soon. Present practice seems to be a result of that.

yeah I have not been posting for ages and to my shame have not been to the SOL for at least 2 months or so. Shame on me!
It just too me seems pointless to half identify the girl but not reveal her name. Anyway its just a nickname. Surely she would want to be identified so she can get more customers???
And if anyone does sponsor a SOL girl surely her sexual history would not be much of a secret ???
Anyway this is just an observation. Am glad that so many people are posting here and also going to the SOL.
It is the sort of bar the people either love or hate but personally I have never had a bad time in there in over 8 years of visits.
I must get back there soon!

I agree with you madstockbroker that two month is far too long to leave out visiting SOL.
I get withdrawal symptoms the moment I walk out the door into Patpong 2.
If I leave it for two days I start shaking.
But I do agree with the R** and the P** and the B** practice.
I believe that nicknames and their use in this country are more than what their usage is in the West.
A person here can be known by their nickname and not have their real, registered name known to practically anybody.....sometimes even to their friends.
If you ask in or outside of the sex industry, two Thai people who happen to be friends with each other, what each other's real name is, it wont be surprising to find them asking one another what their name is.
As for so many people posting here and actually going to SOL, I think its a good and healthy thing for them. And of course it's making the girls happy at the increase in custom, although they tell me that they haven't noticed it. But then, maybe that's them, being all coy and shy and wishing to protect my sensibilities.

I agree with you Madstockbroker that we must all get back there soon.
They depend on us regulars, although the passing trade is something of a torrent in the high season.
If someone posts about the biggr L** or the smaller T** or the hilariously funny R** or any of the other ladies there, I think we could all identify them fairly quickly.
This gives at least a little protection for the girls who may consent to doing certain things with certain customers but prefer to retain the perogative to decide either way with someone whom they've never met before. And it is certainly important in any P4P encounter that what is wanted is negotiated beforehand and not just assumed by a first-timer or even a veteran.
The impression easily taken is that they are up for anything with anybody. But I can assure you that this is not the case, as I'm certain you know.
In fact, if your track record includes visiting SOL for eight years solidly, you know a lot more about the operation and its situations than most of us here.
