Just got back to Singapore from Shanghai after a hectic week of work and pleasure.
Decided to write this report while it was fresh in my mind.
There are a couple of places that I visited where you can have all the fun that you want. On the first night, my colleagues took me to a place called Xin Tian Di. This is place with a large collection of bars - open air as well as indoors. There are live bands in some places and the whole area is just cool to walk around and get some wonderful eye candy. Stumbled into some girls who were soliciting in the open. Looked horrible - so put my ignore button on.
After walking the full length of the stretch and back, settled down at a bar called the East Side (actually, I can't remember the name correctly, but its almost the first pub on the left hand side as you enter the area). There was a live band playing and they were singing Chinese pop and a few English numbers. The two girls who were the lead singers, were VERY cute. There were a couple of cute waitresses as well. The moment the three of us settled down, we were approached by some FLs - I didn't find any of them likeable, so we just shooed them away. My friend told me that I can have these girls for RMB 1000 for the whole night. I had particularly liked one of the waitresses but wasn't sure of the scene and just decided to drink and chat with my friends. Was too tired after a hard day's work and the drinking. Decided to call it a day.
The next day we went to this club called DAIHO (I don't quite know the exact location - I have the name card but its all in Chinese. If someone needs it, PM me and I will send you a digital pic of the namecard). This place was absolutely amazing. I think this building has several floors and on a regular night there are around 1000 girls working. Couple of my friends are regulars here, so they showed us the ropes. The moment you enter, you are greeted by these beatiful girls wearing full length gowns. We had booked a big room for us which was on the 2nd level. Before we went to our room, a friend of mine took me around the floor and showed me the gorgeous girls going from one room to another. He explained the scene to me. You first book a room - ours costed RMB 1888. With this room, you get some drinks. I suppose we got 5 bottles of wine + fruits etc. In the room were 6 BIG sofas - each comfortable enough to hold 3 people (very thoughtful - a girl on each side), a 40 inch TV and a system from where you can choose songs for Karoake. You also get a waitress for the night - to serve you food and drinks. Then the mamasan would bring girls to your room. You choose one, she sits with you for the next hour. You like her, keep her, else tip her and ask the mamasan for another one.
Once we settled down, the mamasan started parading the girls for us. Two of my friends had their regular girls there, so it was left for the remaining newbies to choose. My main criteria was that the girl should speak English. How I got one is a long story in itself. Never mind, I got the best girl of us lot - at least I thought so.  She spoke very good English (with a slight American accent too). Whoooooa. As my friends and their girls were into Karaoke, I was totally into my girl.  She told me that she went to University and took English as one of the languages - no wonder she spoke such good English. She was also the best karaoke singer of the lot. I could see the look of envy in the eyes of my friends.
I had a great time because not only was she good looking and spoke good English, she was quite intelligent and witty too. We played some games of dice - not sure what the games are called though - the deal was that whoever would lose the game, has to drink. I told her that I would like to raise the stakes and that whoever lost would have to kiss the other. She remarked "Looks like you want to win always". I told her that it was the other way round - I wanted to lose to her always. She just kissed me for that one. She was an  . As the night wore on, both of us had our share of fun and drinks. I had decided long back that I had to have that girl for the night. No way, I would let go of her. Around midnight, I asked her if she would like to spend the night with me. We agreed on RMB 2000 (f*** man, come to think of it, that's like S$400 - THB 10,000 !!!). Not much can be done about it - my friend told me that was the going rate. We spent some more time talking and kissing. Mmmmmmmm - just the thought is giving me a hard on.
In between, managed to get the waitress's mobile number for my next trip.
Around 2 AM, the club closed down and I told my friends I need a decent hotel as I didn't want to take her to my service apartment as that was the company accomodation and didn't want any complications later. OK, no probs. They took me to a hotel and we got ourselves checked in for approx RMB 300. I had planned to spend some time in the shower together but she was a bit reluctant. Didn't want to force it - so individual showers and then time for some action.
It was very nice - lots of kissing, fondling. One session at night - OK BJ (covered) and worked on a few positions later. Cuddled up and went to sleep. Another session in the morning. Gave her RMB 100 as taxi money.
All in all, I had a good time. The only problem was that I was late to get to work. 
Total expenses : RMB 550 per person for the room and dinner at the club (we split the damages) + RMB 200 as tips (100 to the waitress and 100 to the mamasan) + RMB 2100 to the girl + RMB 300 for the hotel. Total bill : RMB 3150. That's S$625 = approx THB 15,625. Freaking expensive. I could've done a week in BKK for that kind of money.
Did I have fun ? YES !!!
Will I do it again ? NO !!!
I would rather save all that money and splurge it in Bangers.
Overall, Shanghai was a good experience. The place has fantastic infrastructure, food is good, everything seems cheap when compared to Singapore, the weather was nice and finally, the Shanghai girls are gorgeous - beautiful looks with white creamy skin. WOW !!! The only problem that I faced was the language - if you at least speak decent Mandarin, you can have a great time, else get a cute translator along
That's about all I have to report on the Shanghai scene.

NewKid, Very nice report, yes Chinese lady's are the best looking, Agree Shanghai there it is expensive, but you also can go to Zhongshan or Dongguang (just across the border by Hong Kong) There you can pick up a girl for 500 rmb, or 2 for around 900 rmb.
I had also many problems with the language and that is the negative part of it, and some parts of Dongguang are not safe. The strange thing was that in the centre I didn't see any foreigners, they are more in another part of the city.
Thai woman are more sanuk more fun to be with. But purely as for the look and the sexuality Chinese woman are more hot was my experience.
And then the Chinese ' foot ' massage salons, WOW !, 3-5 hours for 140 rmb, the last hour massage is very erotic, sometimes this is more exiting then to f***.
And officially prostitution is still by law forbidden in China so to pick up girls from street is better to be avoided. Sometime a mamasan pick's you up from street and guide you to their house in small dark scary alley then suddenly you are in a big living room with 30 girls. Totally different atmosphere that sometimes feels not really nice.
But in future I will for sure visit Shanghai, thanks for the info. Did you also visited some karaoke party's?

Panyu (part of Guangzhou city) is 100 RMB for ST and 300 RMB for full night. Incredible. Chinese friend told me this as the real price.
Of course they ask triple or more if they see foreigners. Negotiate hard.

I had been to Shanghai and was never comfortable walking out alone. I have been warned. Nevertheless, I hear the gals on the streets are walking models, and took a chance. Once at a shopping mall, I was immediately 'ambushed' by 2 lovely ladies.... cuddle and made friends with me. They left their mobile and I did ring and was picked up - but I wasn't comfortable having a sanuk in China. Must agree that the gals there are just outragous.....

OK, this has got nothing to do with Shanghai but since LRanger reported the rates in Barcelona, I though I would f*ck this thread a bit
The going rates for chicks in Brussels (opposite the Hyatt Hotel in Avenue Louise) is Euro 100 for an ST.
In Athens, for a seductive (and frustrating) lap dance (less than 5 minutes) by sexy Uzbeks is Euro 10. And if you get her to sit with you and drink while you suck on her tits, it costs you Euro 20. The same drink for you costs Euro 10.

Yes you got shafted on the price. That is the standard price quoted to Westerners in Karaoke places located in big hotels. Many/most have third floor establishments (swometimes its a top floor) with loads of girls to play with you. The take out rate is very expensive as you found out.
Next time just go to the bars out on Hengshan Road and Jui Jui Liu and you can find a hottie for 4000B all night. Lots of bars with girls available.

Besides that I might be carrying luxury goods that I need to bring to Thailand, too many to tell they're for private use (and I'll carry proformat invoice for their destinary in Thailand). Any hassle to be wary from the chinese customs?
But if I can't arrange the visa fast enough in France, which I realise now as the embassy is "en Banlieu" and I doubt I can waste so much time on that purpose this week, I'll prolly have to go to Thailand first. How easy to get a chinese visa in BKK??
