I stayed at the Royal Hiness hotel (yes I do think that is the correct spelling) $20. They have two hotels one older and one brand new - $20 was for the new one. About two blocks to the riverfront. Great location.
I liked it but it didn't have a pool or patio, room was nice though.

I stayed at the California 2 in PP a few months ago. Small but nice room across the street on riverfront, great view. Room had quiet AC, fridge, Sat TV. Worth the $20 in my opinion. No pool or patio area, but decent bar and great breakfast.
Try Mr. Sam, an english speaking driver, has car and moto, and works in front of the California 2. He can meet you at the airport, or take you anywhere you want to go. Very honest and reliable. I had an early flight out, he was there right on time at 7:00AM but I had horrible hangover and cancelled for later flight. Asked him to come back at 2:00PM and he was there on time. I stayed at the California 2 first. Great location, nice staff, cheap beer and good food.
However the room I had was just fair at $15. The Royal Hiness at $20 ($18 really as I talked them down was staying for a while) was way better. The room was very nice for that price.
California is a nice place to hang out during the day for a beer and the owner is a wealth of info on Cambodia but I was not that impressed with the rooms. Do book early if you want to stay at the California 2 as they get booked up sometimes.

The Walkabout is definitely GF. Was in the hotel bar a few days ago, tons of BGs (not the best looking), the whole place has a feel of p4p.

Best thing about the Walkabout is that it never closes, as the other bars and Martinis close you have a lot of the girls flocking to the Walkabout so they basicly can provide for all your need 24/7 
At one time while staying on the riverside I spend 36 hours straight in there, had to rent a room there though, went 2 ST with a girl and wasnt in the mood to go on a moto back to my own place. (Cheap rooms were 5$ back then). However, this was the time that you cou buy the $2 red pills from the local boys in brown, do they sell that outside manhatten disco btw?
