Usually, I stick with the soapies and oilies but got a little frisky with some of the girls at Executive Lounge in Patpong. They ask for 2000 short time, which with the bar fine, st hotel and tip really adds up.
Decided to try a dancer at one of the King Group bars last night. That girl wanted 2600 st.
I guess my question is are these the average rates, is it just in Patpong that they're asking that much or should I be paying (offering) less?
Thinking of writing off this area of p4p as the parlors seem to be a better deal. Thanks for any tips.

Patpong sucks!
I wisited PP in April. The thai girls seems a bit faded and in addition to the locals some fat tourist girls were naked on the stage while their boyfriends were looking at the show. To prevent me from puking I left the establishment.
To avoid ugly tourist girls on stage, please publish their photos.

Yes, Patpong generally tries to be higher in charging the throngs of tourists that frequent the place and don't know better.
The only good place in Patpong 2 is the Star of Light bj bar where the girls will go for less than what you mentioned. But it is the way you dress and how you enter the bar and how they perceive you as new in town and whether you are wearing gold and expensive clothes that will tempt any go go or bar girl to ask for more.
However if you get quoted 5 or 6,000 baht, she is most probably telling you that she just doesn't want to go with you, without actually saying so.
Nana is better in most bars, though not all.
Cowboy is the best of the three, but there are some ladies who will try it on a tourist.
If you really are thinking of slumming it, then try the outer perimeter walls of Lumpini Park later in the evening and into the small hours as well as behind Hualompong railway station. North of Asoke, near the Petburi road you'll find one or two connecting roads that are lined with girls, some of whom are run by pimps, though not all by a long chalk. And then of course there is the famous Thermae overrun by Japanese and Korean gentlemen, as well as the Nana hotel car park.
But if it is short time you want, you might as well go to one of the oilie sois, like 24/1 or 33 and take one of the massage girls up to one of the rooms.

fs 1,500 baht.................it does away with the cost of short-time hotels.
Of course, just strolling down Sukhumvit on the odd-numbered soi side of an evening and into the night and early morning, between soi 3 and 21, keeping a look out for eye-contact is not hard to do.
There is always the German beer bar to do this in soi 7, where instead of walking, you can just sit down with a drink and signal someone over for a priliminary chat.

There is a huge financial crisis here in LOS.
The girls see it not so much in their spending power, but much more so in the 80% drop in the tourist trade and thereby their customer-base.
It has to hurt.

Sorry to go off-topic, but they're some scary numbers! Obviously prices for service won't fall through the floor, but maybe there'll be more competition so to speak? Maybe girls trying harder to win & keep a customer?
