Hi everyone,

I love to play pool/billiard when on vacation in BKK but I'm getting tired of the usual Sukhumvit venues like Newwave (soi 7) or Gulliver (soi 5).

Can anyone recommend a nice location to play pool in town ?
Any open-air location ? or maybe with a view, etc.

Thanks,
Latrell

if you like to play with good tables, e.g. Brunswick Metro 9' tables, you could try either Sports Academy next to the Asoke BTS (above the Seafood Palace), Ball in Hand 2 at the basement of Times Square Building or Ball in Hand at soi 4, opposite Rajah Hotel.

Sprorts academy has lots of nice eye candy, especially those rackers with short skirts. They charge by the hour, 240 B/hour. And the house cues are pretty good too. Bring your own cue if you have one.

I would agree Dark-Night.. The Sports Academy would be my best recomendation.. and there are some cute girls with racks

sorry I meant some cute girls who rack the balls for you.. Good tables.. either play in private room or in main big room..

Or if you want somewhere a bit smaller more bar like can try Big Mango.. sub soi just off soi 4, just past Dynasty Hotel..these are very good tables for a bar.. however you wont get the view.. unless of course the number of freelancers frequenting the place has increased

I have a Metro in my home, but only an 8 footer. Love it.

Ball in Hand 2 at the basement of Times Square Building was my best choice but it is now [temporarily] closed because of a small fire a few days ago.

The Sports Academy is my second choice

whatever happened to that place across from NEP plaza...just down the soi a bit called "Break" or something like that?

I heard some problems with the partners??

it was great and they had hotties racking them for you as well...things come and go, but that was a top notch pool hall...

The Sports Academy looks pretty cool! I'm going to have to check that place out when I visit next month.

Latrell - Here's a website that I've found pretty useful when inquiring about pool in Bkk

I have not tried many pool halls in Bangkok but one that I like and always go to is Swan Bar on Soi 4. It is on the corner if going away from Sukhumvit on the left where the sub-soi that connect's Soi 4-6 and 8.

Trouble is if you just want to play several games with a mate you need to go somewhere like the Sports Academy otherwise the more bar like places, unless you are good you can be on and off the table which can be a pain.

I also play in hilliary bar on soi 4 but only for fun, tables are not great but ok just to Chil out for a while..

Here's a list of pool bars.

And if you are in the vicinity of RCA, try Rack'em Up.

or in Patpong, Red Parrot. There are over 20 tables there.
