I go to Gulivers a lot, but like most places, watch your bill if you drink a lot. I was short changed 100 after I had consumed 4 zombies. Didn't notice until later, so I didn't complain. But I'm sure, and I'm sure it was deliberate. So, count your change. The staff are more than willing to help themselves to a service charge.

short changing 100 bt happens a lot I had it twice this trip and those were the times I was sober, the women taking care of the money usually are the ones with brains university an all that not like the usual bar girl so I do not think it is mistake just take the falang to the cleaners they are all at it when u know u are just a walking wallet then it all falls into place. even my thai wife tries to make money just check your change any way see u tonight sorry about yesterday went to the dentist two teeth out felt like s33t

had the same in another bar last trip
been drinking their on a regular basis used to chat and buy drinks for one particular barmaid
one night I come in and another barmaid tried to short charge me the regular barmaid who was serving someone else spotted it she started ww III with the barmaid who tried to short change me it was quite spectacular

Ordered a burger at Gulliver's Soi 5 last night. The girl didn't ask me how I wanted it; the default assumption for me is 'cooked.' Apparently not so for them.
It came out raw in the middle. Bloody rare hamburger is not a good thing. (yeah, this coming from a guy that eats larb muu; but I digress)
I pointed this out to an attendant girl, she noted it and took it back to the cook. Brought the plate back out.
Same plate, same burger half-eaten. Burger was cooked now; apparently they had disassembled the burger, cooked it more, and reassembled it, half-eaten toppings and all. The fries were now cold and soggy from nearby catchup and juices.
Interesting difference from restaurants in the states. If I get served a raw meal in the states, the replacement is a whole new plate, new sandwich, new fries, etc. Often times, in the states, they'll even give me a free drink (or the meal, for that matter) to make sure I'm happy. The whole 'soggy fries' thing didn't seem very apologetic.
Most of the farang food I get at Gulliver's is good. This burger was not. This is the first time I've had to send food back, and I can't say I pleased with their handling of it.

What a coincidence: I was in Gullivers last night and had a similarly bad experience. Get there at 2000hr and review the menu which tells me it's Happy Hour prices from Mon-Sun at 1100-2100hrs prior to ordering a beer Chang [95 baht normal/ 59 baht Happy Hour price]. Waitress brings back the Chang and announces 95 baht. I ask: "What time is it? Happy Hour Time, right?" She over responds with a slap to her own forehead and an, "Oh, duh, sorry mister! You are right. 59 baht, please."
Then, my change [from 70baht in bills] never arrives. Fifteen minutes later I walk over to her and motion her back to my table. Pointing to my Chang I ask how much was the beer? "59 baht, sir" How much did I give you? "70 baht, sir" Where is my change? [another slap to forehead ensues] "Oh! I forget. Sorry! Sorry!
This c***'s got a nice game of helping herself to the punters change going on, or so it seems.

I once ordered a glass of red wine in GT, when I received it it was approx 40% full only, I told them that I ordered a "glass of red wine" not "less than half a glass of red wine", reply: we allway do like that... So take it back I dont want it then !
Grumpy waiter took it back and probably put it back in the bottle for next cutomer  (

I guess it's better order with a RED POLO waitress,the white ones are the trainees,they deserve trust too but,,,
The same happy hour "scam" is going on at GT on khao san rd. too, tryn to overcharge u seems their first priority, and they come up just with the"im sorry sir" or "time wrong" lame excuse,they do it with an intent and we have to b aware,also in those friendly places.
