Totally agree with you regarding Gullivers. It is the best non p4p bar in bkk bar none! However, you can also find plenty of good looking freelancers there just hanging out with their friends.
As for gooners....

Down Under is always where I start my day/night off, Rob the owner cannot do enough for anyone having a drink, you do meet characters in there 
Big screen inside with 2 or 3 TV's also and 2 or 3 outside on the porch.
We are talking REAL football and not soccer

3AM sitting in the hotel lobby on the internet checking out football scores "American Football" as in room tv-cable wasnt showing any games.
Any tips for a bar that will be showing the games at 3am?????
Both in Pattaya and Bangkok, pls.......

sorry to continue the hijack of this thread from "football" to american football-
but where is everyone going to watch the superbowl, i'll be in LOS then.
need big screen, decent food snacks and prefer a little quieter than gulliver's.. ideal would be if gulliver set up one seperate area to show the game on a big screen.

I remember my first trip to Thailand...I moved there 3 weeks after my holiday was over....
anyway, I was on Ko Tao during the 2002 superbowl and my friends and I had spent a ton of money at this one bar...we asked the owner, a Thai guy, if he would open up early so we could watch the superbowl..
he agreed and the 3 of us were there at about 6:15 am and sure enough he opened up and by half time he had a crowd of about 15 guys and by 4th quarter (it was a great game....Pats won) he told us his bar was the fullest it had been the entire year before..every chair was taken and many were standing...
long story short my friend who happened to be from the New England area was so damn happy (and drunk) he gave the guy 10,000baht on top of our tab (which was high)..
that owner made out like a bandit when he just thought he would do some good customers a solid....
goes to show...karma is a boomerang...
If you are in BKK maybe bourbon street will be open...

that was a superbowl to remember..not just because it was actually a good game...
but on my first trip to Thailand I was watching a superbowl in board shorts with flip flops on while drinking and looking at beautiful scenery with a hottie asleep in my killer bungalow and knowing I didnt have to work the next day put it at the top of the list !!!!!
Until the Falcons win one

If you can't get ESPN, the Super Bowl is broadcast live on thai tv, channel 7, with commentary in thai, and not many commercials (at least they didn't sell much advertising last year).
If in Pattaya, Tequila Reef has a breakfast buffet. If you go there the day before you can enter their football pool.
