Just got back from Bangkok and yes certain bars are charging 125bt for heinekens. Barfines are the same at 500 or 600bt. However to my surprise, the amount of of money the girls are asking for short time is now 2000bt. I was just there this February and paid 1200-1300bt. I was able to bargain down to 1300-1500 bt this time around. This was happening at Nana and Soi Cowboy.
I also noticed that Rainbow one has the best looking girls by far. They have a full house of girls also. I actually had a hard time choosing which girl to barfine since I am very sellective.
This September is very busy also. More so than this past February. Many bars that I went to were packed. I noticed that a lot of Japanese were in town also. Business is picking up.

even if the man, sd and sharks are not crown managed they still have the infamous tendency to adapt the crown group pricing structure immedeately.
Just curious to see when they hook up barfines to thb 700, in comparison patpong is still thb 400 for a barfine and beers are still as low as thb 80-90 on the pong!

So, let me get this straight - there's less customers, the bars are (presumably) empty, and they are raising beer prices - as a result, the girls are doubling their rates ... because that will attract more customers???
Not quite sure I follow the economics - well, I should know hands-on details soon enough (leaving L.A. October 16th)

yeah, i don't think it's logical to think people are foregoing the nana night to watch a movie or sip some brandy by the fire. they know they have the tourists by the short hairs. if they fly thousands of miles to bkk, they'll pay a little more for a beer...

Well, I don't drink beer - and while 2000 Bath is certainly not going to break my bank, there's the principle of the thing.
I mean, sure if the bar is packed and you have to compete for the girls, I can see spending more - but if it's an empty bar, and I'm the lonely customer, I'm not going to pay twice what I should.
f_ck it, I'd just go to Pattaya, then...
