some nights I drink hard, other nights I only order "naam tonic". I have never been bothered by that.
you are in a gogo to enjoy yourself, right? if you want to enjoy the night without alcohol, that is ok.

Some gals dont like to go with a sober guy cos they know he may have intentionally kept sober for his extended all-night pipelaying activities.....all they think is 'john wayne walk and maximum saddle soreness' all day tomorrow......rather go with a guy that will pass out after 1 fumbled shag...and maybe manage to get more cash outta him when he is not quite so alert.
Of course this is to generalise but does illustrate that it is up the gal and guy in question and their likes and dislikes.

If you frequent the Camelot,King Castle 1 or King Castle 2 on Patpong you can order a club soda with ice and lemon by making a fist and giving a thumbs up sign.It must be a fairly common order for them to utilize this shorthand way of ordering.

Like I said earlier in the thread - just make sure the waitress knows you tip well, and you can drink all the Nam manao you want, all night long. I just make sure to buy a few lady drinks for TGs and waitresses, and everyone's happy.
While I see many shit-faced drunks, a lot, in BKK, I never understood the desire to want to knowingly deaden your sense when you're hanging out in this kind of sensual nirvana. It's not like you need any alcohol to get over your shyness in this town

Red Bull - Energy Drink - in bars where it's increasingly avaailable - is a good alternative to alcohol, with its caffeine/vitamin/amino kick, especially when you're more concerned with impressing your companion (s) with attentivess rather than with drunkenness.
Mixing it with alcohol could be a problem however, and like alcohol it is best taken in sensible moderation.
BTW - it was concocted from the recipe for a Thai drink: Krating Daeng.
