I despise the whole "It’s my turn to dance now" workflow anyway. What is the idea behind it? You can’t buy her a lot of drinks, because she runs off after 10 minutes. I get annoyed waiting for her until she is finished dancing.
But this allows me to make goo-goo eyes with her, use hand-gestures to ask her if she wants to go with me, have 10 seconds of conversation with her to clarify our arrangement, then barfine her from the stage because the guy she was having the drink with let her go dance.
Dew and NanaHottie were 'acquired' this way, it's called 'biffing'. 
Having said that, if the girl has one sip then goes to dance and does NOT come back, but instead goes to talk to another customer, call mamasan over and have the drink removed from your bill.
I agree a tip is better for the girl, I use it often on Soi 33 when I go into a bar to talk to a girl I have talked to (or been with) before. Once the girl knows you will tip (because you did it before), she'll stay. She can always tell mamasan "I asked him for a drink but he declined to buy".

Isee - with all due respect - I do not follow this logic. If I order a lady drink in Sheba's it is likely going to be flat coke with an ice cube. I will get charged 100 baht. The girl will get some % of the 100 baht & the bar will get the rest. If I put 100 baht into the girl's hand she gets 100 baht. Ergo - she gets & keeps more. Am I missing something here?

Perhaps I am just an extreme PL. I tend to buy an LD and then also tip to TG if I want to spend time with her. Keeps everyone happy and I get a good result. I mean, even at 100 baht we are talking $2.50. If that is a hardship I apologize but it is not for me. I have found that spending a little money upfront gets me better treatment. A willingness to show you are not cheap, which doesn't take much real money, can get you lots of return.

From what I have heard, the girls get 50% of the Cola ladydrink. You will notice that when they get a Cola, they will also got a small receipt with it, they can cash that in whenever they want (usually they wait until they have about 10 stubs), I think there is a quota for Cola drinks too.
If the girls get a liquor drink, they dont get any money because the bar sees it as a) liquor costs more and they dont want to split those profits, and b) the girl is getting enjoyment from the booze itself, and thats payment itself (I think its more about the profit sharing).
This is why when you meet a girl for the 1st time, she will usually order a Cola, so if it doesnt work out, she hasnt lost anything (rather gained 40-50b) and she can take off with no regrets. Once you get to know the girl and she enjoys hanging out with you and/or you have paid her bf and she will be able to now relax. Thats when she will start throwing back the tequila shots, ordering the Bacardi Breezers and here come the B-52s.
Usually, if I like the girl, she is well behaved, and she lucks out with not having to go with me, I'll buy her whatever drinks she wants and also slip her a small tip (100b). Its the ones that stick out their hands and demand a tip that get nothing but a high-five from me.

Many seems to forget that, why not just be happy its only 2.50, if all start to give more and more, soon it will be 3-4-5 and that is not nessasary, remember is hell lot cheaper to live in LOS than US, that why you dont have to pay more, so enjoy it.

It varies by bar. Very typical is that the girl gets 30 baht for each lady drink she helps sell. Quotas are also a fact of life; 2 or 3 per shift usually..
Some bars do give the girls a cut on the booze they get the punters to buy for them. Even if they don't, the girl still has a choice between money or a buzz. I suppose that's fair.

she is working until the Bar is rewarded by your Bt for her to stop.
you may buy her 50 drinks but she still has to work until you fork out that little amount of cash.
