No, they won't skip their night out, but they may skip Nana or at least the gouge-bars PROVIDED that we keep getting the word out when this bullshit starts. The customer base grows more savvy all the time thanks to the internet and sites like this one.
HarryZink sums it up pretty well. It's the principle of the thing. Some places in Nana still push the Heinekens across for 95 baht, so why pay the extra 30? The beer isn't colder, the girls aren't prettier; why buy three beers for the price of four?
To reward the bar for treating you like shit? I think not. There's no value proposition in the extra 10-20-30 baht they're gouging from the punter. None.

It is true that Crown in NEP raised prices to 125 baht for a beer (Heinekin) at the beginning of Sept. Most likely Mandarin and Silver Dragon have followed suit but I'm guessing that the Rainbow bars may not have. They tend to keep Crown in check to some extent but undoubtedly will eventually up the ante.
But I must put in a good word for Shark in SC. They have kept the prices the same (as of two nights ago). That is 90 baht for a Heinekin. Their happy hour can't be beat 7-8:30PM with Heinekins at 60 baht. They have some lookers there too. Bar fine also 500 baht like most of SC.

Have to say that the price of a beer is the very last thing I'd take into account when choosing which GG to visit.
I'm not there to get smashed. It's not very likely that I'm going to have more than 2 beers in the place - so what am I going to be down? An extra 30 baht? If I stay for more than 2 beers, it must be because I'm having a good time - in which case, who cares? I'd far rather have that than cheap beer in a crap bar.
I don't see why a GG bar can't be like any other business - charge whatever it thinks the market will bear for any of its goods and services. If it gets it wrong, well tough.
At any event, we shouldn't think that these venues are laid on as some kind of public service.
