IMHO I think this is an important and interesting topic. I am not an alcoholic but I sure love a good beer or a whiskey or a cognac with the coffee. It makes me feel realaxed and good.
Many people however have either a problem they try do deal with or just simply doesnt like it! I have seen too many times when the people from these groups are almost regarded "abnormal" for not drinking and subject to being talked into it, like: "come on buddy - just one drink wont hurt you - try it!" I think that is really wrong. If someone says no - just let it be and don´t start an arguement about it. You may not know what lies behind this individuals preferences to choose as he does.
And sometimes I dont drink too! A night out with just water, tonic or coffee can be just as fun and nice.
But in many aspects a certain amount of alco helps shy and inbound people (no, I am neither) to easier make contact - preferably with the opposite sex. Too much will however not make you score easier - that is my honest belief.
So everyone to his own choice I guess!

I don't usually drink alcohol, and always only drink orange juice in the bars. I have to say that the girls do actually appreciate this! Just to comment on a previous posting here, EVERY BG that I have spoken with says they much prefer guys who don't drink! You smell less foul and have your senses about you.
So go ahead and stay off the beer. They will like you for it

thought they prefered guys with Baht, drunk or otherwise. Basically a bg first job is to make customer happy, so u drink orange juice, I lub you, you drink whisky I lub you. For a bar owner its obvious he don;t want a couple of pancys sitting drinking orange juice al night, the bar would go broke, bg lose job too.

You've got to be a computer guy. Everything is either 0 or 1.
Does not drink = "'nice' guys"
Does drink = "fat, smelly, drunken farang"
Does not drink is good
Does drink is evil
Perhaps it is possible that some people who drink a little bit may be in good health, nice and actually practice good hygiene. But that would make your arguments moot, so perhaps you should not consider that possibility.
I would agree that BGs would not want a fat, smelly guy...unless he was the highest paying customer in the joint. Then, I would think the various BGs would all try to get him home.
Now just to keep from being as obdurate as yourself, I am not saying that those people who drink are the only ones who pay a lot of money.
So let's quick deluding ourselves that a poll of BGs is going to provide an accurate assessment of the predisposition of the P4P population. Additionally, let's recognize the various shades of gray and not paint the P4P world in black and white.

H’Guy I agree with you…
In my experience from the decent type of BG I get nice comments that I don’t drink a lot and I don’t smoke.
But there again the mama sans don’t like me because I do not spend a lot in their bar.
