I used to go to a lot of dance shows in the past. Classic/Jazz etc etc. London, Moscow, & Verona.
Maybe I expect too much ???
I wondered if a little effort was put in by some bar owners they would get more customers in these lean times ???

Bro, excluding sexy shows I can only think of one that I enjoyed over all the years. It is not in LOS, but in the Phils. Thunderstruck at the Roadhouse in Angeles is still a classic!
But back on da topic, I do prefer the usual pole dancing over shows with an artistic influence.

Well, I suppose they reckon that the reason they're up there is to display the goods and not give a dancing performance. Are they so wrong?
I'd like to agree with VJ about the GG bars as drinking venues with the girls as background, but I think most of them are very badly laid out for this. Mostly, if you go in company, you have no option but to sit side-by-side. This makes conversation all but impossible if there's more than two of you, and it often makes it difficult for BGs to join you in a natural and 'unforced' way. What IS there to do, really, apart from pull on your beer, suck on your ciggy, and stare straight ahead at the nearest foot-shufflers?

You wanna see the perfect layout for socialization at a go-go then drag yourself to Cowboy2 in Soi Cowboy. U-shaped booths with a small table in the center easy to walk past the table without kicking anyone, you face everyone you're not seated beside, and there's space for girls to either sit on your lap or dance and kibbitz (I really need to learn the Thai word for this concept) in front of the table WITHOUT blocking the view of the stage. Joe Bob says check it out.
So they shuffle. At least they aren't standing still. Ever try dancing in a pair of stiff, ill-fitting 700 baht boots for 6 hours a night?

Yes, I agree Cowboy2 is very good in this regard - and several other Cowboy GGs aren't at all bad. I suspect Midnite (though it's now getting slightly tatty) may be the prototype for this kind of seating arrangement.
I wish we could see more of this at NEP and PP.
