I watched a few games at different places over the weekend and I wanted to start a forum topic to see if anyone has found a great place to watch. I'm interested in
1) Quality / number of TVs
2) Sound from the game being played or DJ / Band music
3) Quality of the girls (have to do something at half time)
Overall Rating - 1 to 5 (5 highest)
Here's what I've seen so far.
Sports Corner - Soi 20
1) Lots of TVs
2) Sound from the game
3) 2-3 nice girls
Overall Rating - 3
Hillary 2 - Soi 4
1) Big screen TV
2) No sound from the games - band or DJ playing
3) 1-2 nice lookers
Overall - 1.5
Strikers - Soi 4
1) Several screens with good picture quality
2) Plays audio from the games
3) 3 nice looking girls (1 stunner)
Overall - 3.5
Australian - Soi 11
1) Lots a screens / TVs
2) Plays audio from the games
3) Lots a pretty waitress (but as you know, they aren't directly "available")
Overall - 4
QBar - Soi 11
1) One Big projector Screen upstair / One flat screen in the side bar upstairs
2) Played sound from the games (Thai commentary) on the flat screen room, but outside all you can hear is DJ music
3) Lots of FL options available downstairs after the game
Overall - 3

For the England game I ended up at a snooker hall in Ratchada.
Place is called Ciciro Snooker club. Its on the same road as the Thai cultural center across from Peep In Hotel.
Lot's of tables, VIP rooms, cheap beer, loads of girls wearing short school girl uniform type things. All where interested in the visiting westerner. Got a few phone numbers and one wanted to meet me in my place afterwards.
They had one large screen TV near the entrance with sofa's. My mate and myself plus about 30 Thai guys sat around the screen all screaming and shouting. Sound of the game was played through a 5.1 system around the sofa area. It was in Thai but then the manger turned it to English for us.
Food good, place clean. The manager showed me the VIP rooms all had TV's playing the game with tables and small bar with one member of staff to take orders in each.
Played snooker for a few hours and lost a few baht playing but all good fun.
If you do not speak Thai to an ok level this may not be the place for you. I though it was great and will be back.

saw the afternoon game at gullivers. english. plenty of tv's. not to many freelancers around on a sunday. actually it
was very quiet for a saturday afternoon.
saw the germany game at penalty spot last night, big
TV, english commentary. plenty of girls, food til late. I will be back.

Saw the England game at The Sportsman, behind the Dubliner. Huge screen showing in HD from Astro with English commentary. Lots of other tvs around the place. Good price on beer. No girls, except wait staff, as its a pool bar.

Gulliver's - Wed night Spain vs Swiss
The place was packed. I guess when Spain plays, that's what happens. Great crowd, lots TVs, Engligh commentary, ok food.
Lots of girls...most FL and some not sure. Most of the "not sure" weren't interested in mingling until after the game was over...too bad I needed to get home for an early meeting this morning.
So far this is the best spot I've seen...although noted since they are FL they aren't always there.
Probably watch the USA vs Slovenia game there on Friday.

Any updates on this issue? I will be staying in BKK/Sukhumvit for the semi-final and final and "my team" is still in the race, as today. So I want to make sure to get the best experience for all senses in order to compensate for not being able to watch and maybe celebrate with my mates at home.

... watched Brazil auger in last night at the Queen Victoria Pub, located on Sukhumvit Soi 23, almost directly across the street from the top of Soi Cowboy.
... certainly not empty, but not like you're crammed into the grand stands either... did some pub cholesterol loading before the game, and knocked off a few ice cold 'uns.
... if you are looking for the comfort of gazillion partisan fans shreiking for your side, this ain't it... great place, however, to watch with mates... room for everyone to have comfortable seats and clear views at the numerous screens... quiet enough to trash talk about gurls and football with your buds during the game.
... afterward, stretched our legs with a stoll down Soi Cowboy, right across the street.

thanks mate. as far as I know there are two Gullivers (forgive me, for asking this, but Gullivers where?)
probably have need for the girls anyway: loosing, winning, not making it to the final. So thanks for forwarding this mind reading aspect.
