Hey, I will be there too from aug 17-23. Will prob go to Beer Garden on Sunday night and Monday night. I'm from Los Angeles, CA. (not that it makes a difference) anyway, i'll be the brown skinned guy with the shaved head...may or may not stand out. Oh well, wouldn't mind hooking up for a drink and listening to some advice. It is my first time there (BKK). I leave tonight!

DHEA was probably me -its a natural product, allegedley made by the body during adolesecence ... anyway, definately seems to keep the 'interest' up if you maintain a steady course of it - as to soi 7, yes, pretty unique ; the afternoon girls are generally after short time, and, sad to say, by and large fairly ordinary - allowing the TGs can sit around all day, it does attract those who have not got the price of a drink in GT/Nana/CM2 etc, - probably best to sit near the entrance way - as often some nice TGs will wander in, have a quick look, then move on if not much action - MSoCal - 2 minute wander thru the short-cut [ between food stalls/internet/karaoke booths etc] to soi 5 and then a short walk to the right to Gullivers, - often Bros hanging about there, taking advantage of the air-con, free internet, and normally better class of P4P on parade !

Time to resurrect the soi7 beergarden thread I think.
I really like this place. I don't know why.. it always has a good feel to it and I have to admit that i'm not a great fan of the whole barfine thing.. I much prefer to chance my arm with freelancers. I like the fact that you might hit gold or you might find a muddy pool..it's more like real life.
I usually hit the open air seafood restaurant place across the soi (great fun to watch the waitresses scramble to entice you into their part of the seating area, although I always end up at my favourite waitress's spot because she remembers my name after i've not been there for several weeks), and then rock into Beergarden at around 9-ish.
I find the best strategy is to do a walk around and see what's around first, then find my place. That's the theory. The reality is that I love to perch at the main bar by the entrance - not the back bars - at the side near the far wall so I can see everyone and watch all the comings and goings.
Beer chang for me, in a glass, now and again with some ice cubes, thank you very much. Usually you can end up chatting with a good bloke. Last time I was there I met up with a 65 year old Aussie bloke who, although i'm only 36, kept me in hysterics with tales of his mongering. He kept being joined by a thai woman he'd had a couple of nights earlier and who subsequently turned up at his hotel night after night because she had nowhere else to sleep.
"The dizzy cow comes back to me when she can't find a customer", he growled at me.
But you could tell he was kinda find of her nonetheless. She gave him sh_t for taking other girls one night so she couldn't have a bed for the night. He rightly pointed out that there seems to be some double standards in her complaint 
The other benefit of being at that part of the bar is that you're right in the line of sight for the girls - I love the eye contact, flirty thing that happens. For a while - just for a while - it feels like being in the normal world.
And the quality of the girls these days? Well, i'm no expert on this, but I reckon it's as good and bad as anywhere. I met this little stunner one night and immediately fell in love with her. Other nights there is a fair proportion of older and less tasty talent. Overall though I would say that - given the farang to girl ratio - there are plenty of good lookers if you want one.
Despite only being their infrequently, i've managed to develop a bit of a rapport with some of the waitresses. It feels like a bit of regular haunt now.
Definitely one of the more relaxing - if not completely stylish - venues around Suk Road.

One of my favorite joints when I'm in BKK. Plan on stopping by in the late afternoon 3 July for a look see. I always do a walk around to scope out the local talent. Some of these BG have an amazing memories. One girl remembered me from two years ago and remembered what I paid her. I told her I would take her for the same price 500 st.
Yes she was good to go.
