God knows what will happen to this bar. Seems all the talk about uniforms, changes, new name etc are false. The only changes I can see are a new floor and the installation of some tables and bench chairs which make the place look like a tea room in a 1950s English Railway Station.
As much as I want to like this place, we have to face facts. It is bloody awful.

Does this mean they serve dried out cheese sandwiches, the kind where the corners turn up cos there so old. Mugs of tea where the pot started being brewed at opening time and has just been added to all day. Stirred with a spoon that chained to the counter and has a hole drilled through it just to make sure you don't nick it.
Ah the good old BR station cafe!!!!!!!!!!!

It's really weird isn't it. Someone buys a bar. Invests SOME money in it, but invests in the wrong things. A new floor, for chrissakes? What about dimming the lights and making the insides a bit discrete.
Someone suggested that he's keeping the windows like that to attract the pre-Qbar crowd in. Mmmmmmmmmm.
I'll still go there now and again, cos it's so close to me, but on any measure it scores low in the 'Tatler Guide to Bkk Bars' 2005 edition.

He's still working on it, apparently. The windows had definitely had a tint applied, as I found it hard to look inside while approaching last night. So much so I thought they were closed at first.

Seems the tint is now working. That's the good news. Bad news is that the quality of the girls is down. Previously they had some very nice girls there most of whome quit when Taffy took over......rebelling over reduced commission on LDs and necessity to go with customer on barfine. New girls are "lends" from the Washington Square bar.......nice but not particularly sexy. However, they are very friendly....very, very friendly......not aggressive but they make it clear they want to barfine. That's fine but the appeal of the Corner Bar was that it was a chillout place where u could just relkax, have a little fun and go home alone or with ur gf. That has gone.....now it basically like all other bars. Good for some, not so good for others. But good news...the new manager...Porn...is a delight and her sister, Sun, is very wild. Bad news....most of the girls speak no English.
I still like it...but for different reasons....and they still have very few customers.

To make long stories short.....
Just avoid the place, there is no reason to do a u turn from anywhere to this bar.
Sad, sad, sad.......
He wishes he could get in the Q Bar crowd. This way he chased them out, including me!
