it does matter, a lot.
These girls are not after True love with a nice young and not ugly Farang (I should know) but prefer the more Clean, refined look of a true gentleman (no matter what age) for their business transactions.
If they are in need of young and handsome, many of them purchase the services of young and fit thai Boys.
Let's not kid ourselves here, these girls will not go with you because of your looks... it might help her say no if the guy is ugly and dirty, but that's all.
they like Japanese for their No-fuss approach to P4P. They just want to bang and then the girl should go, no LT.
Farangs like to idea of having a girlfriend that stays the night and with whom they can have breakfast (the girlfriend illusion). These girls are not keen on that but will play the part to ensure big buffalo gives a tip.

In this trip I have not ever seen so many Japanese present along with other Asian groups such as Korean. The Internet publishing the P4P action in Thailand is being spread through out the world including Asia. Which in return is bringing greater numbers of sex tourist from all over, especially Asia which is a very short hop and the cost very cheap.
The Asian based visitor can visit almost every weekend, were as most farangs much less frequently. So being in close proximity to Thailand enabling more frequent LOS trips causes a multiplier effect on the P4P market. New Asian visitors experiencing P4P in LOS brings in more and more repeat visitors from countries like Japan.
I sat outside the Baccara early last night and watched the people pass by and enter the club for a good 2 hours. Most of the Japanese many young and older made a beeline for Baccara. Baccara is hitting a saturation point, it cannot support all the Japanese punters (Maybe the Thermae too). You see more and more Japanese in Bars like Shark and Tilac. Possibly more bars on Cowboy will become like the Thermae or Baccara.
The P4P market is changing in Thailand, it is being driven by money and the numbers willing to pay, demand is starting to outstrip supply. The more generous Japanese, Asians are going to dictate what the future P4P market is and not the spend thrift farang.

Thinking in particular of a difficult Thermae girl I used to know (who usually goes with Japanese but sometimes deigned to go with me, providing we met outside), these are the factors:
1. Money.
Most of the Japanese don't even try to bargain, they just accept the rates the girl asks for.
2. Time.
Even if a farang agrees to pay the same rate, how long will he take to finish? She tells me that the Japanese she knows all finish quickly.
3. Fussiness.
She says that Japanese guys (and I've heard this applies to Thai guys too) are far less demanding. They don't usually even ask for a bbj, let alone demand it or get difficult. Covered bj or nothing, come within 2 minutes, either like that or in a missionary position with the girl hardly having to move.
Compare that with a farang customer trying to bargain down the rate, then trying to get the girl to do all sorts of things, all sorts of positions, for a long time... Thai girls who work like this can't be bothered with all that! And, be honest, if you worked like that, and there were enough of the non-demanding high-paying group, you wouldn't be interested in the others, would you?
As for asking about hotels, maybe it was just proximity they cared about. The girl I knew used to agree to go with me partly because I used to live so near to Thermae.

This is so funny. This thread acts like there aren't enough girls to go around. There are girls in what ever price range anyone wants, and in whatever looks rating they want.
This is like the little kid that wants a candy that his friend has, only because his friend has one. Then when he gets it, he spits it out.....lololol.
The Thermai used to be a dump, with the girls past their sell by date. Now that the Japanese are going there the quality of the clientelle has gone up. They still are past their sell by date though......lololol.
The soi 7 BeerGarten is not that much different than Thermai used to be. The beerGarten hasn't changed, other than music at night now. The Japanese don't hang out there at all. I wonder why? Prices are the same too, but I was noticing the quality of the lineup has improved since the music started. The place is crowded now any night, or day, of the week. The increase in price at Thermai hasn't affected BeerGarten at all. Why? On some days it's even the same women.

Well I don't totally agree with that statement. I had a friend who was visiting and he happened to be here on one of the bar shut down days on I believe 18 Feb. Cowboy and Nana both closed, so he went to CM2...no luck there...then he went to Thermae and there were a plethora of women outside Thermae. It happened to be closed, but the ladies were outside. No dice to this Farang gentleman though. Did he want a piece of candy because someone else did? Not really. I would liken it more to a man who had been wandering the desert in search of water. After a long search, he finally stumbles on a water hole and is willing to pay to have access to that hole; only, the owner of the hole will not sell. Even if there were no other people present, he would want that sweet nectar from that hole because he had been searching for so long.

Again, I would have to disagree on this. Thermae of course had a well deserved poor reputation after the waning of its glory years, but the ladies there now are not past their sell by date. In fact, there are some quite lovely ladies who are not bathed in the magic glow of gogo bar lights (albeit it is still not a daylight tour by any means) and still look quite good and young.

And this I am in full agreement. In fact, for those that have read how many of the Thermae ladies will tend to shun the Farang, I have no sympathy for those who decide to tempt fate, head over there and then strike out. I do, however, understand that urge to go after the hard to get. Whenever I was told I could not do something, it just made me want to do it even more. Maybe I need to head over there and tempt fate myself...

I could care less what the next guy has. Every trip I go to Thermae to test the waters. I usually visit at the end of the month in hopes of snagging some young petite new Diamond in need of rent money. I merely reported my experience (a very huge change from past Thermae experiences) which appears to be similar to other farang experiences.
I prefer quality and do not mind paying for it. I was willing to pay the girls asking rates and would tip appropriately if the service warranted. But, because I was farang was not given the opportunity to get that far. I can not blame the girl, she is basing it on her past experiences with the farang punters or the experiences from other girls.

Yes, there are a few dragons. But, most of the girls are much younger and of higher quality.

I was in the Shark Bar last nite about 7:00 PM. Noticed there were about 6 Japanese guy's in the bar. A number of Japanese (young and older guys) entering the bar and leaving because there were only 3 dancers of not good quality.
So about 40 minutes later we checked out Baccara. Baccara had two full stage crews of Dancers working, including upstairs. The club was about two thirds full, a few old farang men in groups, the rest Japanese of all ages. Even the bar next to the stage was almost full of young guys.
Is Shark Bar and other bars missing new business opportunities by earlier opening hours with more girls? Perhaps getting two Bar fines a nite out of the girls? Is this an opportunity to do multiple shortimes a nite for those prone to? Are earlier opening hours part of the evolving market?
