I've been to this place. And, as with many other Soi 33 bars, we were the only customers in ther. It was early evening, but It is hard competition for customers in Bangkok these days.
But being the only customers has it's advantages.

Great infrastructure... ranks with the best on the 33 strip. But these new places are finding it tough to gain traction in a slow (and crowded) market. Hopefully the owner has deep pockets and can hang in there until sufficient volume develops. It's instructive to remember that The Office was the same 18 months ago. Now it defines what's happening in the 33 market; the traditional approach (Monet, Dali, Christie's...) is an increasingly flawed business model.

Not so sure that the original business model is that flawed. The bars however are starting to look a little tired apart from Christie's, which is crap anyway IMHO due to the nature of the staff.
The Office started a quiet revolution where cheap drinks and pretty girls were the main draw. It is a drinker's bar.
At those prices even the well heeled regulars of Soi 33 (not all of them are of course) were attracted away from their smartly dressed ladies in their ususal haunts.
The opening of the African pub also signals a move towards a different market.
The Olly Reed was freshly opened when I went in and needed a lot more work and more experienced staff. The owners were not maximising their opportunity at that time. It has a lot of ground to make up before it can rival any of the other bars on the strip for refinement, service or a good time.
Still, early days.

The ladies at Ollie's were ok but not some of the best on soi33. And the thai lads playing pool may be rather intimidating looking to some falangs.

When I was there about two weeks ago, it seemed the ladies like to gather in clusters behind the bar watching the clientele in a sort of scared way.
It seems they are kind of new to the biz... except for the odd one coming from the Office....
