Queen´s Park Plaza about 2 minutes walk away, fairly busy at night. Live on 22 so pop in there most nights. 4 small Sois with very differing bars. Popeye´s a poular corner bar as is Moonshine and Flaming Moe´s due to it´s cheap draught beer I guess and free pool where a couple of cuties always willing to have a game.

It's a nice little group of bars - very relaxed and friendly. Some of them are open air and pretty basic; others are in airconditioned units and more comfortable. There's also a good thai restaurant in the middle of it.
I've noticed much more custom there in recent weeks. I guess that's a result of the soi 13 bars and Asoke Plaza going kaput.

Nice? I thought they were all just sleazy.
Incidentally isnt Washington square being redeveloped in 18 months time. I seem to remember the bars and Bourbon st are making way for some condos. Good place to buy land - prices are about half that of Suk 24 and the area will soon be regentrified.

Washington Square is to become a shopping mall by all accounts a year next August.
Soi 22 sleazy!!!! Hardly fella- have you been into them all? I actually havee and wouldn't describe more than say 3 as sleazy in any sense of the word..

Yes the secrets of soi 22...much more to find further on soi 22 and the side roads towards Klongtoey market.
But that restaurant I would never recommend that one (: they don't serve the food with all the spicy herbs in those small pots etc., very uncommon...most food at street is much better and much cheaper, last time we eat there I paid 650 bath for tasteless food we had even to ask for extra's (herbs etc.) which normally is the base of Thai food.
So then still the best is to eat at the many food places at street, where for 40-80 bath you have more and the most delicious food.

Did some mongering on two separate occasions in this vicinity (had to see what all the hype was about). On both occasions, most of the bars were dead. Stopped off at Silver Dollar the first time and had a drink with my mate. When we entered the bar, a girl had her dress raised to show off her nice ass so that was a nice welcome! Two drunk farang were making out with two of the bar staff (a nice breast feeding kodak moment), but none of the unoccupied girls seem all that interested in joining my friend and I (the feeling was mutual...not to many lookers in Washington Square). I'm not sure if I would actually return as there are a lot better options elsewhere.
Speaking of which, the second venture into Soi 22 landed me at Tina's. My friend and I entered and were promptly surrounded by two cuties each. One of my cuties was wearing a blue silk robe (that came off after a time to reveal a nice little bikini) while the other was in day clothes that did little to hide her enormous..."tracks of land" (Monty Python). Do these girls know how to rev a guy's engine! Lots of touching and kissing...thoughts of using the private room floated through my head. In the end, my friend and I decided to continue our travels, but I will definitely return again.
The rest of the night, we spent at Cat's Meow where my friend ended up with a total cutie...but the only one in the bar of my taste (shouldn't have gone to the bathroom first). One girl did saddle up next to me and this exchange took place after a few drinks:
Girl: "You live alone? Oh, no one to take care of you. I can come with you to your apartment."
Me: "Sorry, I can't take you home. I don't have any money."
Girl: "Thats okay. I go for fun."
Me: "Why go with me? Why not find a rich farang to be with?"
Girl: "You're my spec."
Now, I wasn't really attracted to the girl, but it this really was free, then it would be hard for me to turn down. However, I just don't think in the end it would be free. What do the brothers think? Was this really a freebie that I stupidly past on or just another way to get back to my place and the money would have come somewhere down the line? Has a bargirl ever offered you a freebie (seriously) ? Isn't that like a car salesman giving away free cars?
Final Note: Washington Square seems to be on the downward spiral. Still, a different scene from cowboy or Nana should you want the diversion. Not as raunchy as I would've hoped.

Oops, forgot to add that I did check out Garden Spa Resort at one time. Usual massage set up, but you get your own room (with shower I think) though my girl was a bit on the older side. Usual prices (I think 400 baht on hour for an oily). She used the coat rack with my clothes hanging on it to block the little peep through window from onlookers? The massage was average at best.
