Long time since I posted on here! Well, as per previous posts, I had been trying to sell my bars. But not because they were losing money. I had moved to Phuket to build a hotel, my wife was pregnant and we just didn't have time to look after the bars in BKK. We put Night Night Joop Joop up for sale at 3 million or so (that is a less-than-asset value). No takers! So we reduced this asking price. Still no takers. Every week my wife is getting bigger and this bar is beginning to be a millstone around my neck Finally, I say 'buy it for 100 baht or it closes'. No takers!! Oh well, never mind. So I close NNJJ down and take the loss... My wife has a lovely baby in Phuket and her sister is looking after our other bar in Soi 1, so that's all ok. Right now, we are building a smal hotel near Phuket Airport. I'm trying to make sure that it is an accessible hotel, ie ok for wheelchairs, blind etc, as well as able-bodied people. We are guest-friendly and no charge for your GF/BF/Ladyboy..Hope to open 1st November 2006. Anyway, NNJJ was good fun and made me money. I'm amazed that no-one would buy it or make me an offer. Revolution Bar is still for sale, but since it makes a good profit and is being looked after well, I'm not too bothered if no-one wants to buy it Simon

Huh? Dude, you certainly never offered the bar *here* for 100 Baht, as I would have bought it for that Actually, not knowing what the actual lease/rent is (a question that was never answered), probably not. Good luck with your Phuket projects. If you are trying to sell Revolution bar, then providing an asking price, and operating costs, would help... Still, that area around Soi 1 appears to be, for practical purposes, dead - the location appears good, but it may just be the usual case of bad (read: non-existent) promotion, or maybe because the location is 'too good' (i.e. too visible).

Actually, the location in itself is pretty good. There are lots of offices nearby (Q House, Krung Thai Bank I & II, etc), so you have a good market of office people. Operating a restaurant by day is probably a better proposition.

Hi Simon, 2-3 million was always too much to expect anyone to pay for Joop Joop in my opinion, not withstanding that you may have spent that much setting it up. When it first opened you had some great girls who were keen to get the customers in but as time went by a few moved on and some of the others lost interest, too happy to sit about eating and chatting amongst themselves. What has hurt Suk One most is the closing of the front bar (Morning Night?). I suppose the owner of the building wanted more rent? and in doing so has lost his major tennant, dumb, very dumb. Walk past Suk One quickly and you might not even notice there are any bars there. It's a shame because the setup was a lot better and cleaner than the now demolished bars near Miami and the recently departed Soi Zero. I was past there last week and had a drink in Revolution with one of your original girls and apart from the bar opposite Joop Joop the whole place was very quiet. If anyone hasn't been to Suk One before l'd still say it is worth a visit, only 5 minutes walk from Nana and some diamonds in the rough. YMMV. Trust everything is going well for Wan and the little one.

Well, Soi Zero has finally closed down. The wait is for Suk One Plaza.... I am offering THB 200 for Revolution (but the LB has to go) and THB 75 for the couch...

Dr – maybe you could have saved soi Zero by including it in your tour? Not too late for soi one, or is it? Looking more and more like a flea-market every day. I’ll ante up 300 THB for Revolutions, the LB can stay – but the couch has to go.

I guess Soi 0 was closed by authorities. Soi 1 is not worth it in my honest opinion.
