The high incedence of HIV transmission amongst non- professionals has been confirmed by studies. The results specified that the most prevalent victims were wives of husbands who were freequent customers of working girls (as most Thai men are) however, so there is some connection to P4P.
On the other hand, most of those were in the provinces and often amongst lower income levels of society; As we know those Thai men frequent brothels where there is little regulation or concern for the girl's safety or education.
One more thing about Thai boyfreinds; it's not all that common but some girls have boyfreinds who also sell thier bodies to guys.

Guess what a bar girl, mp girl, karaoke girl, or any working girl becomes when she is found to be HIV positive?
A freelancer. (of course, some will continue to work in their respective places and 'hide' the fact as long as possible through fake docs and having someone else do the blood test for them...... since it's often by #.... NOT by name)
The bills don't stop coming just because you're going to die. So they continue to work. If the customer uses a condom, fine, smart fella. If not, it's more like.... som nam nar, it's up to your karma.

Don't know about HIV but I have lost some dear friends
recently from cancer. I have heard of HIV victims but never met one. Anal sex and the sharing of needles plus
dodgy blood transfusions seems to be the main danger
areas. As I have said cancer seems to be a bigger problem except in Africa ??

That was a good post. I entirely agree with the issue that almost ALL the TGs who get positive results to HIV just become freelancers. The ones who later developed the illness, and physically are unable to work afterwards, just take a bus and die at their villages..... I saw quite a few of them during my missions up country. They just wait for the time to pass away....so sad.
The moral of the story is to use your brain....think on your family, if any, and yourself as well. You may consider to avoid silly risks by using condoms properly!!!! Cheers!
