MN2 closed at Suk 1 for the reason that you mention. The rent was too high. In fact, this is why most of the bars closed or moved. The landlord is not interested in lowering the rents whatsoever. So bars close. I suppose he then gets some more key money from new owners.
Anyway, I cannot do anything about that, so I'm not worrying about it.
As for Revolution Bar, I may close this as well if Suk1 is quiet. (I'm going to visit BKK in a couple of weeks). I still have family in BKK who don't want to move to Phuket. (By family, I mean my wife's sister etc who work in Revolution).
I wonder if La Rueda salsa bar is still for sale. It was for sale about 2 years ago and I think it has a better location.

I dropped in S1P for the first time last night with a buddy - finding a bar with any customers at all was tricky. I think I saw 3 customers in total, on both floors combined. Not one good-looking girl in any of the bars either, which hardly helps, and we got LOADS of unwanted hassle (ugly girls trying to physically drag us into their desolate bars).
Maybe I'll check it out again in 6 months, maybe not. Not impressed.

sounds like things have really gone bad was there last Nov. & was o.k., am planning to stay in hotel upstairs next trip, hope that's still open
