Another f--king ripoff !
I've been living here off and on for 10 years, so I'm no go-go newbie, but Midnite Bar on Cowboy pulled the standard "bar bill ripoff" on my mates and I last weekend. Our bill was almost double what it should have been (No, we weren't drunk!). The fat cow mamasan said basically, "pay it or there be trouble" and she "didn't care" that we'd tell friends, Internet, etc about their ripoffs.
Paid, never going back... and oops, did accidently bump into a table or two on our way out and knock them off their moorings.
Drinks overpriced, wobbly tables free... satisfaction..not yet....

I stopped in at the end of March and it was one drink and out for me. Quality of the girls was only average and the bar doesn't have the feel of the old days.

Haven't been in Midnite for a good three years...and not just on principle because of who owns it (though there is that...). I've just had one problem after another in there, from pushy/scammy girls, to sleazy/scammy mamasans, etc...just not worth it when there are so many good other places to go. A shame, too, as I also remember the old days...

I think you're being a bit harsh, QQ. I agree about the ping pong & dart shows, but some of the other show girls are exhibitionists who get-off expressing their passion, coyote dancers more modestly.
One of the nice features of the 'Iranian' bar group (or whatever), is 50 baht shots of tequila on Mondays and Tuesdays. I visited all this week, with a shot or two in each, without degrading any women or emptying my pocketbook.
Now that's what I call a good time on Soi Cowboy.

In a prior post, I has agreed that Midnite & Deja Vu, are now places that I'd rather not visit, not because of their ownership, but as a result of the poor service that they now offer.
The matter of ownership has absolutely nothing to do with my choice of visiting these venues. I do know that these bars are owned by an Iranian / Lebanese, or whatever; the owner's nationality has no relevance for me.
Didn't mean to imply "avoidance on principle" because the jerk is Iranian, that's totally unimportant to me, too...assholes come in every color and nationality. The "on principle" is because of what he's doing to the overall spirit and flavor of Cowboy based on business practices in his bars, of which he now owns quite a few on Cowboy...
