have to agree somewhat there Drlove..
The beauty about the old bar was the respite you could get after a couple of Nana go go's whilst watching the hustle and bustle of Nana...
Whilst there were a couple of cute girls their was not a great selection.
However saying that it looks like they are aiming for a different kind of clientle kind of more the chil out place and grab a bite to eat..
there is a ST hotel across the road if by any chance there are some cuties in there

The new Big Mango is operating under a totally new system: no "service girls" any more, they are a freelancer joint, and they are going out of their way to draw freelancers: free e-mail and translation services provided to them, discount on drinks that they buy for themselves, English classes.
In other words, the first freelancer bar to treat the girls with respect (as opposed to Nana Disco, Gulliver's, etc., which all treat them as criminals to be harassed and bilked, even though they depend on them for their farang customers).

See the same thing in Pattaya (Pattaya Beer Garden).... they do everything to get freelancers in.... which until now fails...
Will take some time though before it succeeds (if it happens at all).

Give the owners credit for their humanitarian approach, I will stop for a burger & a look, but I prefer being with a girl employed buy the bar for peace of mind, see if they stay that course, still think of them as a place to kick back & have a burger, no view now, that won't help, but good luck

Actually, I enjoyed the kick back atmosphere they fostered - while the location at Nana was helpful, as a repose between GoGo's (or to use the free WiFi to set up Macs for girls), I certainly will check out their new location -- as long as it's conveniently located, I'll be sure to swing by.
Plus, if their approach with freelancers works, so much the better...

have a great respect for the guys involved with this venture..
I like the approach with the girls as said the reason many of us used the beer garden was for the girls so it can only help to widen the choice and good that the girls are encouraged to reside in this bar.
will certainly try it out.
