Hello all,
This is a small point, but one that has concerned me a bit lately.
My fav' night time place has always been soi cowboy, always liked the smaller bars, but in the last couple of years some of these have made way for what i call the Mcdonalds of gogo's e.g. Dollhouse.
While I know these bars are good, I would hate to see all the smaller one's being knocked down and 2 bars becomming 1.
In the last few months it happened again with cowboy 1 and wet lips ( which although a bit shaby I realy liked ) being knocked into one.
If this keeps going on, in a few years all gogo's could be exactly the same, like hotel lobbies, which would be a shame.
I thank the lord there are still bars like Shadow, Toy bar, After skool.
I know these small bars are not to everyones liking, but I think we need to keep a good mix of big and small bars.
What do you lot think?

Couldn't agree more....variety is the spice of life......big glitzy go-go's take away from it for me....I like Angel Witch....you can get so close to the girls as MrJoe keeps reminding everybody!!
Having said that I used to love Goldfingers when it was bigger...now it is just non-descript...

What would be good is to see some of the big bars which are obvious failures get converted into 2 or more smaller bars.
I mean, what sort of utter waste of space is Cascade at Nana? Wouldn't complain if someone bulldozed G-Spot, either, for all that many of the girls there are undoubtedly nice-looking.

come on. i think the likes of dollhouse and others have brought some better cleaner places to cowboy and they are part of the resurgance of cowboy.
with them there are a lot of nice looking, young girls joining the scene. have a look in sharks, dollhouse, and suzie wong, besides long gun they do have by far the nicest girls on cowboy. i do not care wether this are small or big bars, ijust like them to have some nice and clean facilities plus attractive girls the rest i do not care about!

IMHO as far as the new owners and managers of the "new" 2:1 bars keep employing cute and fresh girls aiming a BANG after some SANOOK, I really don't have any problem to see two small or even three small bars being knocked into one....

Why did you make it sound like it was ME who enjoyed the...err...close proximity of the girls. I mean, okay she was close to me too but she came over herself and I had no physical contact. After all it wasn't me who had to ask her to stop clenching her buttocks because you wanted to remove your face.

Well, that's true enough - at least, I'm one of those who think that Cowboy is MUCH better overall than it used to be.
No-one wants to be knee-deep in filth, obviously, but I don't have any problem with some of the older, tattier bars like Midnight or Tilac. Imho, a bar's atmosphere is just SO much more important than the quality of its fittings. It all boils down to the attitude of the girls who work there - and some (not all) of the gleaming new bars strike me as characterless, if not downright frigid. Take the godawful Baccara for instance...
I would guess that Cascade,very probably the worst GG in all Bangkok, has had a fortune spent on fittings & fixtures. Yet who in their right mind would want to go there?

sure, i also wouldn't miss cascade and shed no tears to downsize g-spot as there aren't as many girls in there as it used to be!

Don't you think it is about Time Long Gun and Rawhide had a bit of a make over. with the exception of some slight changes (the beer counter in the corner) Long Gun has not changed in the last four years....
Just my opinion.. Mainly due to the fact you are getting new bars like Shebas and Suzi Wongs etc which are very clean and spacious ....
