I don't usually go to baccara, firstly because it is notoriously expensiveto take a girl and secondly because it seems to cater more so for the oriental gentlemen.
But when I do go, I know it will only be for a drink or two during show-time.
So many of those girls upstairs look so young, it makes my ball sack cringe at the sight of them and the thought of probable legal repercussions.
It is definitely not worth the risk, what with the possibility of the friend's or sister's ID offered as proof.
Far safer to go with someone who is definitely over 24.
Some 14 to 18 year olds can look just old enough. That wont uphold in a court of law, either here or back in the 'home' country to which you will be deported, if not extradited.
This is not to say that Baccara has anyone working in there who is not 21 or older. It's just that some of those girls give me the willies, and that's not my intention for a night's entertainment.

That's a recreation of how, at one point, my "24 years only this time" resolution crumbled quickly.
On the other hand, that is precisely the reason why I keep good relations with some regulars at specific establishments, as they will always point out to me which girls on stage are underage (which was damn good to know on many of my trips - there are MANY of the bigger and popular bars in Nana and Soi Cowboy with girls that are 17 or younger, dancing and working with fake IDs).
Agreed on every reason as to why to avoid Baccara (albeit there's a cute girl or two there as well

The drinking age is 20, but younger girls can still work in the bars. Last night I bar fined a girl from Mandarin. I thought she looked at least 22, but she said she was 19. She just ordered a coke for a lady drink, no alcohol.

Bar girls can work, according to the labor law, from 18 on.
They are not allowed though to enter places of entertainment until they are 20.
They is an anecdote about this:
A girl just become 18 (three days ago) and the police raided Club Boesche to check IDs. Everything was in order...
Then 15 minutes later, a customer barfines her and she accompanies him to X-Zone (above Boesche). By that time
the police arrives at X-Zone, check her age and arrest her promptly, fining the bar for allowing under 20 in...

I love it!
So, in other words, the law encourages girls who are between 18-20 to NOT go to nefarious places of entertainment (at least where alcohol is served) - yet, they can work in a bar. Thus, the only option with an 18-20 year old girl is.... to take her back to the hotel (in a country where prostitution is illegal).
I just absolutely love how the people in government, making the laws, and presenting themselves as the guardians of morality, have absolutely NOT thought any of this through. Brilliant - they *do* take many of their pointers from the US, it seems.

A Thai friend explained to me that it's OK to have a sexual relation with a 15 year old (his GF was 16) but strictly in a boyfriend-girlfriend situation... no money involved.
I guess Tonga is off-limits for Butznutz...
