Well tonight myself & a forum bro visiting from overseas did a lightening tour of lower Sukhumvit.
Said visitor was staying in the Manhattan. At the price he paid & the room he got - I would say great deal. circa 1100 baht.
We grabbed some grub in a sidewalk cafe, Bier Garten (no lookers) - Gullivers - very crowded but nothing above a 7.
We jumped into a taxi & went up to SC. I wanted my new friend to see Country Roads. Even though we arrived early - 7 ish the band was already playing. Asked the hostess to send my playmate from last time. She & I were doing a lot of kissing & played 8 games of pool. The band let me sing one with them after the break. "Honkey Tonk Woman" tons of fun & the band stuck to the Rolling Stones theme for a while.
My new friend got hooked up with Miss X - sister. Looking forward to his report. This a relaxed pub with tons of ladies at bargain prices. Soi Cowboy.
We want to hit After Work next time. Also going to eat Thai food opposite Queen's Park Complex & I am taking him to Cupidy. Too close to the Manhattan. If he likes anal might take him to Baron's.

50% off Coutry Rd 2 is owned by the owner of the top bar in country rd 19 who is the owner of the bar in cow boy as well, not sure if he owns or has stakes in the other floors in soi19.
The other 50% was at some time allegedly owned or part owned by me 
But thats just a rumour and is in fact owned by my X girl friend (aka MisSoi19) sponser, who I have met before not a thai but eastern and a tW**T 
She gets a cut of the profits and it does make some as well, they strangely have very little problems with the police as well.

All very informative.
I just have one question.
Why doesn't Country Roads - Sukhumvit Soi 19 - rate it's own thread?
I asked several times if we couldn't hold the RT at Country Roads - Suk Soi 19 - so far no takers. I finally gave up.

Never having been inside I would defer to UKShagga or someone who knows the place better.
Tomorrow I will start a Counrty Roads Soi 19 thread (if I haven't been banned).
I think Afterwork wouldn't work - pun intended.
Gotta say Corleone's & M2N2 were outstanding venues as was Christmas upstairs at Sheba's. You don't have to walk too far from there to find action.
Country Roads in Cowboy might be good. I know that place.

Last night I was wandering Cowboy, deciding where I wanted to go. I finally ended up in a place that many people pass every night on the Asoke side - Country Roads.
I looked for reports, and was pretty surprised that I hadn't found any in quite a long time. Perhaps I missed them, or perhaps Country Roads isn't very popular in this forum. None the less I decided to stop and see what was happening there.
The typical visit to Country Roads has the customer (me) stopped by one of the many women hanging around outside. When you enter that woman comes along with you and becomes your "host" unless you motion her away. In this case she was pleasant looking, probably in her 30s, and spoke excellent English. She had an employee card dangling from her neck on a chain.
Looking around, there were lots and lots of women with these employee cards. I was told by my host that all of them worked for Country Roads, and that all (or almost all) could be bar fined for 600bt. These weren't the typical go-go bar girls that you see in almost all of Cowboy. The ones in Country Roads tended to be a bit older, though quite a few were very easy on the eye.
Sodas were 95bt. LDs were 120bt. Country Roads is basically divided into 3 areas. There is the outside area, with lots of small tables and seating - similar to many places in Cowboy now. There is the pool hall area with 4 pool tables and a couple of small tables. And, there is the band area with live music and at least 20 small tables and stools for customers.
The band area is where I spent the evening. I was told that Country Roads opens at about 1pm and stays open until 4am. Bands (there are 3 each night) play from 8pm until late (not sure how late). When I was there the band play a non-stop medley of 50s, 60s and 70s American/British songs. The singers alternated singing the songs, not a bad idea when you play non-stop. Voices weren't all that good, but everything was pretty mellow. There is a tip jar if you feel like tipping the band, which I did.
There is a very small area in front of the band to dance. An occasional customer would dance, but mostly the Thai hostesses. They really got going with some Buddy Holly and Beatles.
Country Roads was completely full at 10pm, with all tables in all 3 areas full and the pool tables in full use with a queue. I guess that's to be expected on a Saturday night, although the rest of Cowboy didn't have a lot of customers.
You don't want to sit in the band area if you want to have a conversation. Very loud, non-stop music. Better to be outside or in the pool area. The air con was quite good, however, in the band area.
I wouldn't be surprised if numerous people start (or end) their night in Cowboy at Country Roads. Its been an institution for 20 years plus.

Quim is a County Roads aficianado and has made mention of his antics in there many times in his field reports...
BK is known to spend some time/baht in there as well....
I stop in there on occasion, but always with a girl in tow and after midnight on my way out of SC.....
I'll have to give the girls outside there a closer look next time on my way into SC....

Good to see Country Roads resurfacing in the BTF consciousness. Been quite some time since I paid a visit there. Is the girls' uniform still shirt and red checked skirt ? Wonder if it's the same band that still plays there with the lead singer an old man with a guttural voice, who drinks endlessly between turns. I think his name is Eura or some such. Veera, the manager, is good at remembering faces of old customers. On my last trip I thought of looking up the Country Roads that shifted from Soi 19 to to Soi 5 next to Foodland. I saw the whole place under reconstruction for a new Grande5 Mall touted as a day-and-night shopping centre.
CR does have lovely ladies if you are looking beyond the mere physical for other traits like companionability at drinks (minus the pestering for LDs) and a free rein for your paws with all hostesses around.
Open till 4 am ? Wow, they used to close at 1.30 as I recall.
Thanks for bringing up Country Roads again. Nice to remember those nights.

There were several girls in such uniforms. Kind of cute. But, most of the women were in regular dress.
There were supposed to be 3 bands that night. Although its certainly possible that I misunderstood and there are actually 3 bands that play on different nights. I only saw the one. The lead singer (although many sang lead on individual songs) was a old, thin man who did drink between turns.
