Saturday night I went to what used to be my second favorite place in Cowboy, Shark Bar. I'll get to why it used to be in a bit.
For a Saturday night, Cowboy was pretty empty. Especially compared to Friday night. I forgot to mention that Friday night 4 Thai guys were break-dancing between Suzie Wong's and Fanny Bar. They were begging, of course, and made it really hard to go past them without getting kicked. Most of the Coyote Girls nearby were gawking at the sight. I would guess they did this for 20-30 minutes before passing the hat.
There were also quite a number of female falangs wandering the Soi. Most of them must have felt like whales when compared to the rest of the girls there. There was also, of all things, a popcorn vendor on the Asoke side. Don't remember seeing that my last trip. Sadly, the German Sausage lady is no longer there.
I went into Shark Bar about 8:30pm. Pretty good crowd downstairs for that time of night, but not nearly as crowded as Baccara was at the same time Friday. Downstairs seating is 2 levels on both sides and in front. If you are sitting on the top level your eyes are level with most girl's navels.
Long, narrow, stage with 19 girls in see-through tops. 2 crews, AFAIK. Drinks are reasonably priced (Diet Coke = 70bt and LDs 120bt). After a while, I noticed feet shuffling on the ceiling. I had forgotten that Shark has 2 levels. So, up I went.
2nd floor is the SMOKING floor. Not only are there ash trays everywhere, but this is where the Servers and the Bar Girls come to smoke. Quite a number of them lit up while I was there. This is why it USED to be my second favorite place.
2nd floor was empty when I went up at 9:30. 10 girls shuffling around. I focused on one, #22, who was slim and reasonably attractive, but by no means a stunner. She, of course, immediately came over for her LD. She said she was dancing on the 2nd floor because she was late to work. All the girls dancing on the 2nd floor had been late to work.
They tried the Baccara "no bikini" thing at Shark, but they couldn't get enough girls to do it. Even though they paid them 50% more than the other girls. All the girls now wear bikinis under their skimpy costumes.
Quality of the girls was okay, but (IMO) no stunners like #71 at Baccara. Also, no dogs. At first I thought #50 might be up there, as I saw her face and smile first. Curly hair, attractive face. Later I saw her dancing and she was just too chunky to meet the grade for me. Might have been in a minority there, as she was bar fined about 10 minutes later.
2nd floor finally started getting more customers by 10. Its slow season, so I don't really know what to expect as far as crowds are concerned. Shark isn't hurting for business.

Why is this a deal-breaker?
At least they keep smokers physically separated and away from downstairs - unless you are emotionally attached to the upstairs.
Also, never understood the obsession some people have about *needing* girls to dance naked. Most of the time it makes girls uncomfortable, and it shows in their behavior - plus, bikini clad looks and works much better, IMO.

The bar girls and the servers aren't separate. The one smoking up a storm 2 minutes ago could be the one standing next to you downstairs reeking like an ash tray.
I should also add that at least one of the mamasans (if the older women in long black dresses are such) was smoking up a continuous storm.
I'm not trying to convince anyone to not go (or go) to Shark. I'll probably return, although I will confine myself to the 1st floor. Additionally, I didn't mention that the 2nd floor has a completely different vibe for me. Almost like Rio or Sahara - don't really know why.
There are certainly things to like about Shark, including reasonable drink prices and attractive girls. There are also, IMO, things not to like.

Isn't that always the case with nearly *ALL* bars and Gogos?
Nearly everyone of the regular hangouts has some stuff I like, and some stuff I don't like. It's just a question of which pros outweigh the cons...

naked dancing is oldfashioned -more pleasure to vibe a girl than to value like a chicken, and, when naked, more whore minded; 2nd floor is dull and unattracting-shark is only good for girls on barfine and the earlier is the better.

last week, quality is going a little down- very young cutties( mine for a lt was there since 1 week and aged 21) but low ambiance- girls not as avid than in Baccart
