Was on the way to Gulivers yesterday. Saw the Country Roads sign, so dropped in. Talking to the lady manager, I found out they will be moving across the street soon into smaller venue. The landlord raised the rent and no longterm contract.
Same band, but the members are old!

That one is one of the Country road bars I have never frequented.
Since the closure of the Soi 19 one I have found that the one in the tunnel is far too small, hopefully the new soi 5 one won't be as tiny.
I've always had plenty of fun at Soi Cowboy Country Road.

Oh the Memories Country Road Soi 19
Always started my nights off there playing pool near the Hong Nam
Remember the crazy loud Girl that hang in that area with the curly hair
than after hours up stairs to all hours

Its on second floor abow foodland with aprox 12 tables.
Nice band too and very friendly girls but sadly bad pool players.
Know the thai owners and its tru they have problem with the rent.

The soi 19 branch was one of my favorite bars, particularly the top floor bar which had a really nice relaxed atmosphere and some great girls on staff. Pity it had to be torn down to make way for yet another skyscraper. Sukhumvit Road is becoming a pretty uninteresting place as all these great old establishments get torn down for shopping malls, condos, hotels and such.

I was never a fan of the Soi 19 Country Roads. I thought the place was a dirty slum dog bar and the band was terrrible. Becuase I used to stay at the Swiss Grottino, I would often stop for a last one. Essentially the Soi 19 Country Roads moved to Soi 5. A better cleaned up version of the Soi 19 in a large venue. Location is everything though.

Gee Cal a dirty dog bar
Lots of foot traffic and dimed lights
the only thing I didn't like was those ceilings around the pool tables being 6ft 1 I had to be careful when playing Pool
Spent many a night there playing pool
the band was ok for a bunch of Thai Guys that taught themselves
the songs by just listen western rock which I grew up with
There must be many members here that I played pool with and didn't even know it at the time
Nothing stays the same for ever remember Clinton Plaza
and all those bars that sprung up soi 10 only to be bulldozed in the early hours by a certian General that though his bars were losing trade down the road and he got away with murder.
Bangkok is all about making Money.
