I have heard that this weekend (Saturday 25th and Sunday 26th) and next weekend will be dry days, in Bangkok at least, due to the July 3 election. I expected next weekend but not this one. Apparently was wrong. Has something to do with giving people time to travel upcountry to vote.
This comes from a bar owner. If anyone has further reliable information. please provide.

June 25 18:00 through June 26 midnight. This is a new wrinkle that translates roughly as "pre-election"... for those who want to vote early and avoid the election day crowds.
Then July 2 18:00 through July 3 midnight... for the "real" election.
Keeping eligible voters sober makes them more likely to show up at the polls... so goes the reasoning. Personally I would think the opposite. Or perhaps they are less rowdy while waiting in line to perform their civic duty...
BK... don't we have a "Dry Days" thread somewhere? We should, given the recurring nature of the animal and the degree of interest...

Was told at one bar it's from 18:00 tonight until 18:00 tomorrow night and yet most places around Patpong were still selling at 19:00.

I was unaware of this until I went out tonight no Margaritas at my fav Mexican - cowboy and nana empty and dark
beer gdn ok and a few other places
but in the top ten of stupid ideas this one is in with a bullet.

Go to Patpong. Most bars owned by cops, or cop-related. They never "don't serve," even on royal birthdays, etc.

Was in Bangkok last month and one of the days was a Buddhist holiday so no alcohol at the bars. We got a late start and sipped on Coke Lights until 11:59PM, then at the stroke of midnight, it was tomorrow! Alcohol flowed from that point on...

It's always on sale.
You just have to look for it.
Yes, some of your favourite bars, or most of them, particularly this weekend, maybe or will most definitely be shut so the alternative is to buy a few bottles beforehand and call her or them up to come over to your place.
Only slight hitch there is that some bars run a sort of staff outing for the girls on those days, so secure your arrangements early before they book themselves in for the outing.
Other girls take the time to visit family.
Solution is to take the trip with them. There usually seems to be 'sleeping' space available.
Other girls choose to visit the temples.
Do you really want to see another one ?
Only the urgency in your loins will tell you the answer.
Of course, there are always the massage parlours
I prefer to stay at home and call up for home delivery.

Last weekend it was supposed from Sat 18:00 until Sun 0:00.
But Beer Garden was serving alcohol aplenty. Only restriction was no live music.
