hi robert,
i have been to lumphini stadium about half a year ago. I recommend to go in a meter taxi, as it has aircon and you won't have to inhale the air all along the ride. tuk-tuk should never be over 100 thb. the taxis use the meter, so the price is not an issue.
entrance, as I remember, is 500 baht to 1000 baht with the locals (who are all gambling, it is fun to watch). there are more expensive places for the tourists in the front and you get to take a pictures with the fighters. I recommend to stand with the locals, because it is a more interesting experience. going to lumphini is a great thing thing to do, if you have the time besides nep, cowboy, mp's and pty...

Lumphini stadium on tuesday, friday, and saturday nights, fights start at 6pm. Friday are the top fights.
I've been there twice, and recommend the tourist section, it's bt1500, but you are ringside, and can get better pictures. Take a taxi there, about bt100, but be real careful taking a taxi back. Most drivers will not use the meter, so make sure you negotiate the price going back. I've had to walk over to the night market to get a fair cab price going back. Muey thai is definately something not to miss.

at lumphini boxing stadium. bouts start at 7, finish around 11 pm, usually 8 fights on the card
wednesday nights are best nights. ringside with the locals is 1'000 baht... be prepared to get blood on your shirt. it is worth the grand. ask your hotel concierge or any travel agent for tickets.

Both are THB 1,500 ringside (1st class) or THB 800 behind the first cage bars (second class).
I used to box when I was younger, so I go often (couple of times a month).
Agree 100% with rtb, koolbreez,buxeda. great "must do" in BBK. Take a bright Thai cutie who speaks english, and have fun with the betting and translations from the crowd. Thai entry prices are bloody cheap anyway, and a fraction of your entry price. Last week in Lumpini, a guy accused another of refusing to pay a bet....the girl was quite convinced that he would be shot afterwards, and translated the whole arguement to me blow-by-blow...WOW was that interesting, and well worth her bar-fine price alone, without the "extras" afterwards 55555.
Just a warning, take the start time with a pinch of salt....I normally get there about 7.45
The first warm-up bouts are not really worth it, and after the main event, it runs down hill quickly in quality and skill. (but ok, for a first time, you probably want to see every moment?)
After more than half a dozen draught Chang (at Lumpini stadium) or Singher (at Rajdamneorn stadium) beers out af a plastic cup, it gets a bit blurry for me anyway!

The MAMBO show, not the muay thai!
Last night I went to the bar downstairs at the kateoy show, to play pool and grab some eats, 'cause all the tables on soi 33 were full of crap pool players, taking all night for a game, and then refusing to vacate the f_cking table!
The bar downstairs has about 10 great tables, cheap food, and it is always empty!
But as you were asking; as we were leaving, one of those "girls" was picked out by soi33cutie as fancying me, so we had a good laugh about it anyway. She does a really good kateoy impression. So good I had to take her to the peep inn and check for "scars" and "tucks"..the investigation is not completed yet, and I might need to repeat the procedure again tonight just to be sure I am shagging a femail!
