Believe it or not, the following story is 100% trueÖ

Ý A week later she got news that she passed her test. I asked my friend that introduced me to her what was up and she finally told me that this girl was in an institution because she had been deemed mentally unstable to stand trial for her crime, I didnít even want to know what it was.
Ý That was the last time I saw her.
Ý Imagine if they came back and told her she was pregnant!

This a little off topic and completely disgusting, but I read the other day a fair number of Chinese people and quite a few Japanese people, drink their own urine because they feel it gives them some health benefit.
I wonder if some Thai people have this habit?

There is another thread where this is discussed.
There are several types of tests used by law enforcement. The most common one used conforms to the NIDA 5 panel, which is a test that reacts to 5 substances: Cannabinoids (marijuana, hash), Cocaine (cocaine, crack, benzoylecognine), Amphetamines (amphetamines, methamphetamines, speed), Opiates (heroin, opium, codeine, morphine), Phencyclidine (PCP).
Then you have cheaper Nida 2 tests for marijuana and cocaine and others more costly for the Nida 10 for Amphetamines, Barbiturates, Benzodiazepines, Cocaine, Cannabis (THC), Methadone, Methamphetamines, Opiates, PCP and MDMA (Ecstasy).
Detection periods in urine are as follow:
SUBSTANCE Ý Ý
Alcohol 6-24 hrs
Amphetamine 1-4 days
Barbiturates 1-21 days
Benzodiazepines 1-42 days
Cannabis (single use) 48-72 hrs
Cannabis (habitual use) up to 12 wks
Cocaine 4-5 days
Codeine/Morphine 2-4 days
Heroin 8 hrs
Methamphetamine 3-5 days
MDMA (single use) 1-3 days
MDMA (regular use) 3-5 days

Dutch or anybody else wondering, I wouldn't even bother to find out which test they adminster and rather be safe on any test they may pull. It's too scary of an outcome to contemplate so I wouldn't even consider taking any chances and I would make sure to be clean well in advance of any trip out there. ÝThat's my opinion but your free to do as you wish unless your just inquiring out of curiousity. There is no way I'm going to take the chance of being put in some shit hole jail cell waiting to be released to deportation authorities. ÝThailand to me is about women, food, drink, and the culture. ÝAlthough it would be nice to have some smoke it is not necessary because there are so many other things to indulge yourself in besides getting stoned. If that is what your about then set aside a trip to Amsterdam instead so you'll be safe. Be careful bros, don't take the chance of f_cking your lives up...

i will echo Dutch and say thanks to Smegma for the info.
makes things difficult in some cases.
i rarely use drugs,occasional funny cigarette and would never dream of using anything in Thailand.
but there are a couple of things on Smegma's list which might be used by me and others for a legitimate reason.
one day the Police might be looking for something which has been prescribed by a doctor and they consider it illegal.

Dagul: I was referring to:
Cannabis (habitual use) up to 12 wks
This means I wont be able to take a joint before a trip witch shortens the trip with a couple of hours. 
And I'm no heavy smoker but I smoke on avarage more then once a week so I would need to stop smoking 3 months before my trip....
If I know what test they have I can decide what to do based on facts, now I'd rather fly into PP.

I've heard they use a relatively simple and cheap 3-way field test that screens for cannabanoids, opiates and amphetamines. If you come up positive on that one they haul you off to the Poloice Hospital for a blood sample that is screened much more closely.
What this means is that you should get to know exactly which field kit they use and adjust your drug of choice accordingly. If they don't screen for blow, snort up.
And, as always, take only drugs given you by your doctor or supervisor.
