There is also the titalation factor. I have several business associates that come to BKK on a regular basis. They go only to legit massage (i.e. No Happy ending) and BF some girls to go out drinking, dancing and playing pool. I think just the possiblity that sex can be had for a cheap price without any strings is enough of a fun factor for them.
Many BG's have told me that upwards of 40% of their customers never have sex. They want to talk, go to dinner, etc... Whether they are being loyal to their wifes/GF or simply wants a girl that will listen instead of nagging them is unknown, but I was quite surprised by these comments from them.
I can see some people coming here to do things such as golf, diving etc, but this culture thing is overated. Seen one temple seen them all. Hell you could visit the Thai budist temple in Los Angeles and eat good Thai food in Thai town and save the plane fare.
The coming her for the culture bit is in line with the GFE lie. 
I live here now and after a while the P4P scene gets boring. I very rarely go except to entertain visitors, but I do have a TGF that is 20 yrs my junior. That's almost impossible to do in the USA unless you are very rich and if I get tired of her or she tired of me there is another to be had around the corner. The TG's know that they can be easily replaced by a new model so they aim to please.
The main reasons I have deducted why I stay in Thailand is one I get a huge tax savings from the USA and two I am able to live a higher life style than I could in the USA.
Try getting into higher end clubs in LA, New York and most big cities you have to either be super rich or one of the pretty people. High-ended restaurants in the USA cost a fortune. Real estate in CA is over the top. I can get front row tickets to live acts of which would be sold out in minutes in the USA.
I don't wash a dish, a car, cut the lawn or any other household chores, execpt construction projects due to cheap service labor here. Probably later in life I will hire a driver as well.
Lastly, in business I am able to associate with major Fortune 500 business people on the CEO,VP,COO,CFO level of which I would have no way of working with in the USA.
As for the USA, for me it remains the best place in the world for shopping. Most of the things I want I can just point click and have it delivered in short order. Want booze, sex toys it is just a click away. Get your TG boozed up and use the latest sex toy on her. It's all good.
So while there are a lot of minuses living here on after analytical analysis there are few places in the world that will give you the best bang for the buck.
