I agree with most of the issues covered by HAAM.
So many members here got type #1 qualification and few others #2. We all share our views here and the BOARD is the one who gets the benefit of a useful discussion despite of the insults, disagreements or complaints made by few other(s) sometimes.
However, we may consider that THIS forum got the interest of the bros cos of a simply policy, which is still based on SHARING EXPERIENCES....So, after reading this (posted by Haam)....

I have favorite restaurants, bars, massage parlors, parks, bungalows, etc., in Thailand. ÝWould I post them here? ÝNot on your life! ÝI would gladly meet up with anyone (in neutral territory), and depending on how I felt about them, recommend some of my good places. ÝI know that seems selfish, and not quite in the spirit of this type of venue, but that's the truth of it.

Yes, I know. Few of us, including myself, got screwed by the misuse of the info freely given to the forum about certain places and girls. But shit happens sometimes. Morons are alive and live between us....very little can be done to avoid them.
Concerning the main issue of "spoling" the market cos "overpaying" I think it was extensively discussed long time ago and a good feedback was obtained that time. I am with Haam in this issue and share his point of view. I think also that the time we meet a nice TG (very high probability to get one in LOS everyday) we really understand how nice this culture is. One good example could be the sincere feedback you can get from Thai ladies if you are a sort of Type 1 guy. Simply great.

I think Pinga makes a valid point.
As I said before, I think this board is and should be used to share information. The part of Haam's post that Pinga singled out is maybe the only part in which I don't completely share Haam's feelings. IMO there are some kinds of info that should only be offered on a personal basis but I agree with Pinga that if we don't share ANY info then the board will lessen in one aspect of its value and it would be a loss to many of us.
However Haam did say "I know that seems selfish, and not quite in the spirit of this type of venue, but that's the truth of it.", so I respect his honesty and I do undertsand his feelings on this, even if mine might differ slightly.

Haam Sup's eloquent synopsis expressed concern that it might be 'Selfish'. I live in a Ski Area and have for many years. Would I post my favorite powder stash locations on the Internet? Heck NO! Would a fly fisherman post his favorite stash fishing hole on the internet? Heck no! That's not selfishness, it's prudence.
Would I give people general information about my favorite ski areas? Of course, happily. Directions, best times of year for particular conditions, where to find package deals, etc. But not my 'Stash' places, the places I have lovingly unearthed through exhaustive and determined exploration.
I am new to this forum and from what I have seen so far, Haam is one of the most informative and frank contributors here.
Thank you Haam, for your well considered, sincere and passionately held views.

If someone is diving and spent a lot of time and resources in submarine exploration to find out a nice fishing ground with excellent variety of fish in hidden caves, of course you WON'T be that naive to tell that info to ANYBODY!! That's a ground for you and to you ALONE. This happens to me many times since I am a diver on my spare time.
However, if we talk about a Bar/MP/Escort Service/GG-bar/B-bar/BJ-bar, etc....how you can consider one of these places UNIQUE and for your own use ONLY?....
....maybe a certain girl, with a name you don't want to share, at a certain place, with a name you don't want to mention, could be a good reason to be considered as CLASSIFIED info. However, even thinking that by not making this girl "popular" she can wait for you alone is something difficult to believe, unless you are a good and lucky sponsor. We all know that the TG might be bf at least TWICE a day when YOU are not there or even freelancing, right? Who knows?Thus, your fishing ground was violated already....
I don't want this thread to be spoiled with rude words. Polite comments are very welcome instead. The discussion here is excellent and we are just sharing bits of "way of thinking".
BTW few of us already have agreed to NOT sharing the names (and extra info) of certain TGs, which could be main characters of further field reports. We got problems doing so in the past. Lesson learned. BG locator is an exception but not much info on performances are extensively given....

I don't think anyone has used rude words and I don't know why they would. I agree they are unecessary and inappropriate.
I also don't think anyone, including Haam Sup, said he considered some places for his use only or that he can keep a girl for himself by not telling people about her; the issue is whether someone wants to volunteer the information or prefers to let people find it on their own. I think that people who give the infomation are generous and kind to do so, but I also think that if someone doesn't want to, I can understand that.
And as for names of people; I never have and I never would give them out on a public forum unless perhaps I was absolutely sure it was OK with that person. That's just my policy -- it doesn't mean everyone else has to have the same policy.

IMO you guys are missing the point.
As regards to payment for services- why pay more than the going rate??
A thai would not pay more and remember that bargaining is part of the culture here so...
Do you guys think we should pay the first price mentioned ???
Re this argument type 1 and type 2
This notion of type 1 and type 2 guys is too simplistic for my mind.
Sure we all want to have sex with TG's but do we want to pay more than we really have to.
I think not.
I like TG's and treat them well but payment is only part of the package.
If you are proprietorial and rude and aggressive no matter what you pay you will not be liked.
If you pay more than the going rate what does that say to me that says to me that you are insecure and that you are using the extra money for leverage.
This will be seen for what it is!!!!!
Of course at the end of the day you can pay what you want but i for one am not a millionaire and prefer to find a middle ground by paying the going rate and if the service is very good by tipping an appropriate amount.
BTW if we were really just into cheap sex we would be going to Cambodia or Vietnam.

HAAM: I think that your Post describes the title that I chose for this thread very well. Thank-you. The #2 types are the ones who are ruining Paradise. I long for the good old days of the 60's when there were no McD's or 7-11's and for the little quaint restaurants instead of the large chains like Sizzler or Fridays. Thanks again for your comments.

I find it hard to understand the guys that
try to justify squeezing the girls for the
sake of THB500 (US$11+) in the long
run it probably costs them more in frustration
and lost opportunity. Best thing for us
locals is for the Baht to go back to 25!
I think we would see a sharp fall off
in the Type 2's!

... the great thing is we are obviously all different in our taste's .... I frequently get to check/meet TG's, who are on the verge of a Visa/Lifestyle overseas, or at least a good monthly "sponsership" - and to me, they are sometimes very plain, ordinary Thais, and maybe I would pick another half dozen at least in the particular bar/MP before them - just another benefit of LOS I guess, someone to suit everyones tastes, so likewise, while I feel passing on info needs to be monitored at times, especially re TGs, - we have to remember what pleases us, may do nothing for someone else -
