A shame really as this country (as Daffy pointed out) as sooo much to offer (other than the girls....and they are a major draw for me, I admit it!). EDIT: After reading Harold's last post, I got to say, that although I tried to convince him otherwise, I do love guys like this.....because the girls realize what they think too and it makes guys who appreciate Thailand all the better in their eyes. Man, it's just too easy to look good when you face competition like this....thank you Harold 444...I really do owe you! Enjoy the cheap sex....;-)

Actually, I don't stay in a "cheap" hotel in Bangkok, and my house in Colorado is nicer than the BKK hotel where I stay, so that wouldn't be a reason to go to Bangkok. I have a car in Colorado, so I don't use taxis there, so that isn't the reason either. 
Remember, when you paint with a broad brush, you get paint everywhere!
Maybe I like to travel the world and see interesting things (although the streets of Angeles City to not really qualify as "interesting".). OK, that is my official answer. 
I went to Halong Bay Vietnam last month with a TG I met the month before. Had a great time, even gave the girl a name ("Snow"), that's how much she means to me!  We saw lots of interesting things there, although I didn't get much sleep (Snow has this irritating habit of keeping me awake by rubbing my balls - I hate that!). Hanoi is only an hour away from Bangkok.
I played golf last week on the course that is in the middle of the runways at Bangkok Airport. Can't do that in Amereka. 
AW, work brings me to Thailand, it is a nice bonus that I can easily screw lots of different girls here. I hang around with some nice people while I am here. Met some people in Thailand I don't like to hang around with, so I don't.
If I had no work here, would I come? Maybe, but I am lucky (or unlucky) in that I do not have to make that decision.

Harold sounds like a natural for the Jerry Springer or Maury Povich shows.
He could marry some American woman whose ass is as wide as two ax handles and then have an affair with a fat one.
For Harold's edification, I came to Thailand over 30 years ago for the first time and have decided this is the place I wish to die and my ashes scattered, preferably over a golf course. I haven't traveled to the US since 1991 and am unlikely to do so in my remaining years.
Before you ask, I first came to Thailand to meet my family from the US on a family vacation and golf. No ladies involved. I fell in love with the people, climate, attitude and the fact that it was not so uptight.
I am too far over the hill to be a whoremonger, so, Harold, why do I still keep coming back?

Harold, Harold, Harold, there you go again.  I say that I do not have to make the decision on whether to come to Thailand. You then say that if it wasn't for my work, I wouldn't go. That is not what I said.
However, when you first asked me the question you already told me what my answer should be and if it was something other than what you wanted to hear, you wouldn't believe it. No matter what I say, you wouldn't believe it because my answer would put me outside the "mold" of how you believe everyone thinks.
For you, the temples aren't enough to fly half way around the world. Maybe they are for some other people. Do you give any thought to the idea that everyone does not think like you?
Flying half way around the world? Maybe you do not like flying. Some people like to fly. A lot. Maybe you fly coach? Some people don't.
I have seen many, many places in Thailand. I don't particularly love Bangkok or Pattaya - "Thank God I'm a Country Boy") - but there are other places in Thailand I like a lot (Chiang Mai, Krabi, Koh Chang, Kanchanburi) and many other areas I have not been to yet, but will go (Ayutaya, Trang, Similans) when I find suitable time.
I've been all over Amereka, some places I like and some places I don't.
I have rafted a few times in Colorado. Actually, I liked the rafting on the Pai better.
The bottom like is that a trip to Thailand, for many Amerekans, is a VACATION. Which means SOMETHING DIFFERENT! Just because you think the only redeaming thing Thailand has to offer is cheap sex, doesn't mean everyone else thinks the same.
But me thinks you are not open to this logic, so we'll agree to disagree.

Quick comment about 1 K Hookers:
I don’t EVER post photographs of the women I have taken, but if I did you would be amazed at what 1 K will get you. It is not that difficult to find good looking women in that price range and I find there is absolutely no correlation between price and performance when it comes to Sex performance. I have paid far more for far less so as unless you have first hand experience with a girl or have it on good authority that she is good then we are as Forest Gump says about the box of chocolates; you just never know until you try one.
Oh and BTW Macs do suck! I have a PC that will kick my WeakBook (PowerBook) G4's ass any where any time even though it has 1 GB memory the max I could get when I purchased it. I will admit I used to truly hate this machine and used it for an expensive juke box until I had to upgrade to Tiger OSX. That helped but not enough to say I like it. I work mostly with photographs and it just 'does not pack the gear' as we used to say in the Marines.
