Daffy, I understand your confusion. Actually the first time, a few yrs back probably, that I saw her, I wasn't totally impressed. If I'd seen her when I first arrived here, I may not have thought anything about her.
But her looks, the soft cheeks, fair skin, slightly Chinese look with a bit of "dta tee", her slight underbite, everything is very much in a Thai preference style that Thai men often find attractive--and being that, for a Westerner, it is an acquired taste, which people who speak and read Thai and spend a lot of time with Thai colleagues or on Thai websites may be susceptible to. Some other guys may like her for different reasons. Others may not like her at all.
Without getting into a useless argument over who is really beautiful and who is not, a pointless discussion, I've noticed this adaptive effect.
In fact the longer I stay in Thailand, the more my tastes change. I think that's natural. I think back of the women I'd seen first arriving here, or even in the States, whom I thought were hot, and now I think Oh please... No thank you. For example, I think on another thread somebody mentioned that he thought the girls of exploitedasians.com or whatever it is were kinda skanky, but "hot"... Good heavens! I might have thought that were I still living in USA, but now... it is not possible. Someone else writing about this Tila Ngyuyen or how to spell it... 4 foot 11... No appeal for me that I can register yet. My tastes have changed.
That being said, and a certain acquired taste being just described to you... although there are some styles I find not attractive... some tastes I don't have or no longer have (including most caucasian women nowadays), I'm still flexible and always seek beauty in a face rather than ugliness.
