I've just moved to the Bangkapi area and must now search for new whorehouses and bars after 10 years on Sukhumvit.
Apart from the big soapies and things on Rama 9 has anybody from the area found any local brothels, bars and such?
I know that there is a big bar scene around the universities and I plan to make a good sweep of the area but a few tips from a Bangkapi local would be most appreciated.

From NIDA down Ramkamhaeng (starting around soi 99, I believe, or higher) there are a million Thai cafe type places you might like. Most of the ones look nice. I have seen very pretty girls out in front of them in the night. I never went into one, though I assume it's the usual Thai place set up: paying for table company, talking sweet... drinks... perhaps a VIP room upstairs for private karaoke and hanky-panky... or perhaps take them out after close...

Going away from town down Ramkhamhaeng, maybe 3 or 4km after the Bangkapi junction, right hand side, there is a big entertainment area called Viva. At the end of the soi is a huge MP. Bath and f@#k.

Been there a few times as I sometimes stay with a mate in Sammakhorn Mooban.
Went around 6 to 7pm maybe 25 to 30 girls in a big fishbowl. 1500 to 2000 depending on quality. A few nice lookers, a few good bodies. As good as I would find in Chao Phrya.
It is a big place, lots of space as you go in for sitting and drinking, food available, girls singing. Beer was 120 baht for a large bottle, one of the papasans spoke English. Nice, friendly, maybe Thai style MP?
Always had good service, one or two pops, big, clean rooms, huge tubs. Shame there is no soapy.
A good way to start the weekend and then on into town.

Isn't there a district called something like "Happy Land" or something like that right off of Lad Phrao near Bang Kapi? I drove through it once and it looked like it was full of Thai style bars but it was daytime when I was there so I got no indicators.

Viva is kind of sub par in my opinion. V2 as well nowadays. Okay if you just want to get off, but the gals in no way compare to say Emm, Tarawadee, Copa, Utopia, etc.
