Stopped by the new Dyansty Grande on Soi 6. It looks overpriced to me at some 2600THB/night min including VAT and 10% service charge. Just a preliminary evaluation here. Other opinions of course welcome and solicited.

Any BM stayed here yet? Thinking of using them in May as they have a 20% off deal currently. Would sure appreciate a review.

Got a chance to check out the rooms the other day. They are nice, minimalist, much larger than Majestic or Dyansty by Nana or the one in Pattaya. Bathrooms are fairly large with some rooms having shower stalls in addition to the tub/shower. They will have a fitness/gym in a month or two, have dial up access in the room and free WiFi in the restaurant and the large spacious lobby/bar area. Restaurant food is above average and service is excellent. So except for the 2600THB min room rate (incl VAT and service) it is a nice addition to the area and on a par with Omni Towers.

Thanks for checking them out bkkfella. I will start haggling and see if I can get the rate down a little. Last time I stayed at the Omni I got a 1900 baht rate incl. tax and bfk so Dynasty Grande seems a little overpriced at 2600 baht and no bfk.

Okay Lads I'm in this place for a coupla days so here goes: The rack-rate is Baht 2250++ but until they've finished the second building (next door) they're offerin' Baht1800 net. No breakfast included. IMHO the other building will take another 3 months at least to be finished. They have suites as well but the the Deluxe (regular) room has the following: Large room with bay window, big double bed, telephone, safe, mini bar (empty apart from the obligatory 2 bottles of water), large bathroom with sliding door, separate bath and (power) shower cubicle (easily took me and my floosie-de soir), hair drier, loads of big, soft, fluffy towels (4 in my room!) and the usual assortment of bonnet la douce, soaps etc. Remote (tethered) control box for lights, AC etc., fitted wardrobe with drawers n' sliding doors, big TV with UBC n' remote, fitted carpets and hard floor, sofa, desk n' leather chair but no dressing table or mirror or small table so "we" ate in the bay window area. How am I s'posed to watch my floosie's face when I'm bonkin' her doggy style? Don't these hotelliers unnerstan' anythin'! Loadsa power outlets some 220 volts. They say they have WiFi enabled but it wasn't available at the swimming pool and my room had a week signal (5th Floor) but at the coffee shop/terrace you can pick-up other providers in the area. There's a swimming pool on the 3rd floor but the strange thing is that there is no restaurant per se. You order room service or sit in the cocktail bar/terrace and order food there whilst readin' the free newspapers and waitin' for the ever-friendly staff to serve you. Overall a minimalist approach but I guess they're mainly gona cater for the service apartment/long stay folk as they're quoting monthly rates (Baht 44,000 net). The windows are tinted but it looks like the "neighbours" can see into your room, problem (?). Girl friendly with the same policy as Dynasty Inn i.e. no trouble to walk in with a (non-registered) floosie and you can have her leave her ID at the reception or not, "up to you"! Located on Soi 6. As the Sukhumvit entrance to Soi 6 is blocked (one way traffic) the taxi has to go down Soi 4 past the original Dynasty Inn on the left then turn left into Soi 6 and the Grande is about 200 meters on the right. Cheerio PS: Overall good value but I've not stayed in a place as expensive as this for a long time so I don't have much to comapare it with.

I thought the rooms were pretty good. But the hallways are pitiful. They are no different from the original dynasty. The hallways are a disgrace. A little extra effort there and they could really have had a pretty nice hotel. The smell of paint is still everywhere and they are a little unorganized. But the room is nice. 1800.

Hi team, this is my first post. I'm in BKK for a week next week, and even though it's short notice I can still get a week at Omni for about 2000 baht per night (inc bfast) or at Dynasty Grand for 1800 per night (no bfast I guess). Which would you recommend? I've not stayed at either -- but stayed at the original Dynasty in Nana a year back, as well as Nana Hotel. I wanted use of a pool to get some sunshine while in BKK. Nana not available this time, no great loss I think I hear good things about Omni but it's getting a bit older now is it? Is DG at 1800 a better deal, or not? Cheers Ff
