Fantastic rate?.....ok. I'm thinking 2k +17% isn't going to qualify as "fantastic", but the place does look reasonably nice. Would rather use my $$ on the ladies than to pay that rate on that soi.

Good point chris,, there are many a good place around the 1,400 BHT mark.
And if one really wants luxury then Sukumvit by Sofitel is only around the 2,400 Mark.

Getting a rate of 1700 by emailing the hotel direct.
Considering the shitty manhatten goes for about 1500, I think it's a f***in good rate!
Wonder where u stay???

I know nothing except that $2200 is not fantastic for the area.
I did go to the hotel today to check it out. It is very proffessional. If you can get that 1700 rate, I'm guessing it is pretty good. I didn't check out a room becuase I didn't want to pay the $2200, but the custmer service and aesthetics of the lobby mean something, should be good. I am guessing owned by people that run the Dynasty grand, exact same uniforms and rates.

Apologies Cris!
If you contact the hotel direct & ask for a corporate rate, they will offer you 1700, 1800 & 1900b per night respectively for the superior, deluxe or corner room. Add another 200baht for double occupancy which includes 2 x brekkie vouchers & no joiner fee is payable!
So the corner room, 45m2 goes for 2100 all in!
Now that is fantastic for the location & standard of room, breakfast looks pretty extensive too & free in room wifi!
Can't think of anything else I need!

Can't figure out where along soi 1 this hotel is located,before the 7/11 or past? wich property has been took over?MG mansion?
i know soi 1 as the palm of my hand and consider it a great location IMHO.
Euro park hotel has been my first choice for past trips and never had a complaint,except the radical change (guess u know what I mean) of clientele last year wich has made me change my mind about place.
Adjacent u may also check out Sara inn,cozy and quiet,two steps away from Burungrad hospital hall.

I beleive it is the Euro park that Unico has taken over - you say it was pretty good before the refurb?
Dunno how far down the soi it is, but they did confirm by email that they have yet to get the complimentry tuk tuk up & running! How hard can it be???

Heard that thaihoteldiscounts are offering 38m2 studios with free wifi & brekkie included at Centrepoint on wireless rd for 2273b per night!
Great location if you don't want to be "in the heart of the beast" as it is still a stones throw away from all the action & close to Pleonchit bts.
In a bit of dilemma now!
Both seem like outstanding value, have stayed with centrepoint before & wireless rd property is newish but well maintained & kitted out - and their brekkie is excellent!
What d'ya reckon mate?

A lot depends on how long you intend to stay and what you need from the accomodation. I normally stick to 3 star places as I am seldom in the room if not asleep or???
I do see your quandrum, both look excellent and I must add that the Cente Point wireless road has recieved great reviews on Asiarooms.com. and the price you quoted is very good.
From a selfish point of view I hope you spend time at both places so I can get an up to date report on both
