Countdown to November here... Swiss Park thread in this forum indicates GF, but two reviews on Sawsdee.com in April complain of guest fees. booking price is same for single or double so I thought it was good to go -- any recent experience?? Phil

I stayed here for the first time a night ago. Booked a double, they insisted on taking the ID of the girl when I came in with here. No charge when I checked out so I guess that makes it GF! Room here is OK for the price, the pool looked nice but small. There were a couple of farang women hanging at the pool.

This is a little known gem of a place. Marble floors (no nasty stains on dirty dusty carpets) which are cool to the touch. Very good breakfast. Pool and cheap price. Yes, GF (have asked the front desk). They take ID for your protection but if you really do not want them to, that can be arranged. I only visited this hotel, not sleep for the night, as I usually stay at the Landmark, but if I ever have to get into an economy good hotel - this would be my choice. Have I mentioned location location location? For more reviews check: http://www.asiarooms.com/reviews/thailand/bangkok/swiss_park-hotel-reviews/10834.html Cheers! Ap.-

G'day mate, Sorry Mel.... well close second will be the Manhattan hotel then farther down the chain you may try the Majestic Suites (don't like it though only if you have no choice - no pool, small breaky, and noisy to my ears). Then again, why not spoil yourself and go for the Landmark? Do not know about the other Swiss (Grotino) have never been to it you may want ti check it too if the Swiss Park is full (more expensive if you also factor in the breaky which is extra).... Cheers! Ap.-

I just booked the Swiss Park for a week on either side of a trip to China in October. Used the BTF hotel reservations site, which ended up $1 USA cheaper per night than asiarooms. Looked a lot cheaper, but their quoted price didn't include taxes until you were actually at the booking stage. I've stayed there before with my TGF. She likes the breakfast buffet because it has lots of bacon. I like it because I like the soup in the morning. Other than the soup, its pretty much the same buffet as the Manhattan, which has priced its way out of its 3-star rating for me. Wouldn't mind booking the Town Lodge again, but my TGF didn't like the "long" walk to Sukhumvit.

Apollo,, just joking buddy. I already booked,, for my brother-in-law, I'll be staying at TL for my fist night ( arrive 11pm) and then moove on down to the Grande Sukumvit by Sofitel, that place sure looks nice Using my "free" night on my Accor Advantage card and opted for the 1,900 upgrade to the Diamond Suite,,, looks EXTRA nice. Then just to make sure I experience the true variety in Thailand, I head up to Isaan and stay in a 200 BHT bungalow and work on my farm,,,LOL A Land of contrasts. Mel.
