Looking for some help on a hotel located on or near Suk. I haven't been to Bkk for a couple years but have always stayed at Majestic Suites and enjoyed it. 1 time at Grand Inn, Nana inn and Omni but hotels in Thailand get run down fast...
No girls going, only 3 friends and we are in our 20-30's and looking for a nice hotel close to the action,with internet, girl friendly and a pool around 2000 baht. I located Dawin and they have room for 3, but before I book, any other suggestions? Thanks!

i'm also looking for a new hotel in the Soi 2/ Soi 4/ Soi 6/ Soi 8 area near BTS.
i usually stay at Dynasty Inn Grande on Soi 6 which is OK but not a great value.
I'm looking for something in the price range of about 1800 Bt per night.
it must be clean, quiet, preferably with internet and of course girl-friendly and without the surcharge for two girls that Dynasty Grande sticks you with.
Any suggestions?

I frequently stay at City Lodge on Soi 9, have reserved for tonite in fact. Right on the corner in front of the BTS platform, very clean, but request a room in back of the building for less noise.
Girl friendly, I've taken 2 girls up, no problem, as long as they have IDs. Front desk phones you before giving their IDs back. Managed by Amari.
About 1850, but no internet.

This time we went on packaged tour, arranged by a travel / tour agent, located closeby Ambassador hotel. They arranged for us Floating Raft in Kanchanaburi, Amari Orchid at pattaya and Ambassador in Bangkok. Let me say my about Ambassador :
Good points : Great Location, Efficient stuffs, Breakfast lay out is also good, mainly for Asian clients.
Bad points : Not all stuffs are friendly, so called New rooms are just coverd with laminated papers on wall. Bathroom has bad locking system, Basin stopper doesn't work ( I stayed there 1 month ago and now )
Gala Dinner was charged for 2800 Bath ( compulsory), and food ? Both quality & quantity was pathetic. On top of it, Drinks prices were awfully high. Waiters told us, that they can only served water, coffee on the table and not the food, which was kept out side the hall.I could hardly see any hotel guest bought any drinks on the table due to sky high prices. It appears to me that Ambassador management simply do not want to promote their hotel very efficiently. All guest, including me disappeared just after 12 midnight.I will think again to stay here next time.

Bimlee, not the first time bad management has ruined a business/hotel. Basin stoppers (sink plugs) and compulsory dinners my pet hates.
I will be returning to Livingstones on soi 33 soon and everyone I have introduced to it has returned - me to. Hope that's not the kiss of death?
I would recommend this place to forum members low rise - pool swimming - pool cues table balls - bar - food - in house ladies - soi 33 - 10 minutes to cowboy walking.
Sort out your own routine the n you only have yourself to blame.

President Solitaire has nice rooms, albeit slightly darker (the ante-room between bedroom and window got most of the light), and great bathrooms. Overall, I found them to be very nice rooms with convenient and comfortable amenities. The room I had did not have a balcony, which is usually important to me.
I was not too impressed by the breakfast (it was adequate, but that's about it), and I did not like their pool or pool area at all, which did not appear too well maintained, and was 'just there'.
While I got a pretty good discount price at the time, I have stayed in places where I paid less, for (IMO) better amenities - in other words, while President Solitaire definitely was a very comfortable place, I felt I could get better bang for my buck elsewhere.

Bimlee nope stayed at the Nana many times love the sleaze but cant stay there for more than a couple of days. Majestic Grande was nice as was the Landmark, Town Lodge nice but that long soi walk! Stayed at others that left no impression whatsoever so Livingstone’s Lodge has been my return choice so far sure there may be better but when I find it I’ll tell you.
