Okay, I now have an apartment and am free to recommend this hotel. Before now, I was afraid to recommend for fear this place would pack up and raise their rates. I have been coming to BKK for a decade and come at least 6 times a year - so hotel choice is important to me. This new hotel on Sukumvit Soi 10 is very nice indeed. Very clean, very new, and modestly priced - rooms start at 1700 baht a night. I always stay in the deluxe rooms because they have a huge bathroom with tub. There is no pool or gym, just a nice clean room, with flat screen tv, at a good price. Guest friendly of course. Check them out at: http://www.paradisosuites.com

Tkx Jet... you're a smart fellow... I always talk too much about the hotel gems I find and then they are fully booked short after... Not because of me of course but the general rumor...

Paradiso (like that name!) looks nice but the website doesn't show much really... The bit you can see is promising though...

No pool or gym are dealbreakers for me, but it does indeed look like a good deal.

Decent prices on Agoda.

Its ok I suppose. Basic and in a good location.

The best deal at the moment is the Adelphi Grande. The newest higher end apartment of the Compass Group. Located in Suk 41, Prompong Bts. Convenient but quiet.

Studio prices start from just over 2,000 Baht per night inc taxes and ABF. 38 sqm is the smallest room size, has full facilities and even a washing machine in the rooms. Free internet in all rooms

Considering what you get and the price. Its a steal.

Daffy, I reckon you should stay here on your next visit. A Deluxe Studio may be better as a slightly higher rate.

Adelphi Grande also has a 44000 monthly rate for the Superior Studio.

Edited: Paradiso Suites

I got claustrophobic cabin fever after 3 days, these rooms are so small. By the way the desk said there is one suite, so I do not know how you can call it suites. I had a superior room which is supposed to be 23-25 sqm. The left head side of the bed is 2 feet away from the bathroom door. Great when she's taking a dump and your in bed. There is no place to put luggage, except on the window side floor, making the room even smaller. The desk is marginally wide enough for a 15 inch laptop, the desk chair keeps banging into the foot of the bed, when the chair does not want to roll into the door, because the floor is not level. The place is noisy, customers, maids, and water drainage in the walls, every flush gurgles down thru your room. This place has the potential for a good short time hotel, to be positive!

Another thing you pay full stay at check in. Even though they have my credit card, a cash deposit for the mini bar (500bht). I guess I am not a backpacker at heart.

Cal: You talking about Paradiso ? I stayed at the Adelphi Grande a few months ago for 5 days or so. I had the basic room which was pretty big. WD, fridge, desk, kitchen table, couch etc. Nice pool, decent gym, wifi, good brekkie. What the hell else you need ? Just 1 bitch; you can't see the LCD TV from the bed. The rooms are L shaped and I think they were supposed to have articulated wall mounts, but decided they were too expensive. It's basically in Japantown, but not far at all from Emporium. I got it way cheap, as they had just opened. Good spot for a family IMO. I don't know the prices right now, but the Admiral Premier is just about as good, and has been running a lot cheaper. Better location for us mongerers too. wj ps: I just looked at Tim's site and it appears they've moved the beds across from the tv, eliminating the problem previously stated.

Paradiso Suites additional info:

The Hotel is new and clean. The staff is really trying hard too please and seem to be good people. When I checked out a day early they refunded me a half day.

The room had a king bed, 2 foot walkway between the bed and bathroom, 2 foot walkway between the desk mini bar, and 3 foot walkway between the bed and window, that is all the floorspace in the living area. Essentially the room consisted of a king bed with narrow walkways on three sides of the bed. Additionally the wardrobe took up valuable floor space.

The shower was so small I kept hitting the temperature lever with my body and turning the shower to very hot water.

I checked in this hotel today for 8 days. Both superior and deluxe rooms are not available so I'm staying at standard room today.

They did ask for 500 baht cash deposit but did not ask for the full payment at the check in.

Room is small but you can't expect bigger size of room at this price, location, and condition. For this price range, you have two choices.
1. older hotel with bigger room.
2. newer hotel with small room.

Similar hotels around Sukhumvit are more expensive these days. (on8, S Sukhumvit suites, Sacha's Uno, SilQ)

Before complaing about smaller size, I want to ask what other options you have at this price. Windsor suites?

I get 10% additional discount for weekly stay. So i'm paying only 1350 for standard and 1530 for superior.

For ~1500, I think this hotel is the best deal these days if you want
- newer hotel
- good location
- free internet
- no carpet

not a good place if you need
- gym
- swimming pool
- good breakfast
- big room

I'm really happy with this hotel for the price I'm paying.

joybkk, 37 sqm for 1,333 baht

http://www.wotif.com/hotel/View?hotel=W67149&page=1&viewType=all&refId=65662&startDay=

I think this place by giving the impression they are suites are misleading in their marketing.

joybkk, you seem kind of defensive, so what's your interest in this hotel other than staying there? I feel I have been objective in these posts.
