I was having my usual trawl through hotel web sites and discovered that there can be different rates even with the same reservation company such as r24.
I was looking at the Bangkok Post site and linked to their hotels section, the City lodge 19 comes up at 1274 inc with r24.
However if you go straight to the r24 web site the CL19 comes up at 1499.
I have not compared other hotels but I expect that there will be about a 200 baht difference.

Gus,you should factor into the tariffs advertised by r24 the very unfavourable exchange rate they give by comparison with say,Asia Rooms,or Tim`s travel site.

They may well be the same price after they have added the tax. Sawadee now lists without tax, and only till you hover over the room, the price with tax appears.

I have so much money that I cannot spend what I have already, it's just that I'd rather give it to the girls than large hotel groups or companies.
My OP was just to show that r24 had two different rates when booking direct with them, maybe more.
Whilst you and I have no money worries, maybe other BMs like to watch their money very closely, 200x 28 days=5600thb, a decent night out for many BMs.

Also have to watch out for sites like agoda that add tax, so you don't initially see the price you pay.

No probs blonk, the internet can be misleading at times.
I stayed at The Peninsula once, that was fantastic, even met me at the airport with the S class Merc, shows I am a cheap Charlie, I didn't go for the Rolls or the Helicopter.
It's possible that I will stay at City Lodge 19, it is fine there, and location, location, location.

I'm with Gus, I stay at City Lodge Soi 19 frequently. Rooms are comfortable. For 1200-1400, it's excellent value and great location near both BTS and MRT. Why pay more? The walk-in showers are large enough to accomodate myself and two GoGo girls.
