Royal asia Lodge, in soi 8 .
stayed there for 8 days and they have no problems with guests whatsoever. Just dont leave them in the receptionhall waiting.

--Nana Hotel, across from NEP
--Dynasty Inn, just down the street
--Majestic Suites, around the corner next to Landmark Hotel and the PO
--Grand Inn, just across Sukhumvit in first 50 meters of Soi 3
--Crown Hotel in back of Landmark hotel in between Soi 4 and Soi 6
All of these are guest friendly, a lot closer to the action than way down Soi 8, and as cheap or cheaper than the Royal Asia Whatever they are calling it this week.
Lots of other places meeting these criteria as well. Closer, cheaper, just as nice/nicer, and just as guest friendly.

Woraburi Inn is fine and convenient, on the same road as NEP, a brisk five minute walk down the soi. Can't remember how much the rooms are, possibly 700 bt. Db.

Yeah, Federal Hotel puts you convenient to Thermae, and whatever's left of Clinton Plaza, and about halfway between Nana and Cowboy.
The difference between Sois 11 and 11/1 confuses a lot of people (including taxi drivers).

Woraburi is very good: there is a swimming pool on the roof.
I think it is more than the prices quoted by Valentinoxxx though: I paid 1100 Baht in January for a Deluxe room (I think that must be the name).

If you want a cheapie that's not bad, I reccommend Majesty Palace Hotel on Soi 3. It has a/c, hot water, double bed -- standard. The rooms aren't great but the price is. It's only 500B/night and it's about a 5 min walk to NEP. Best cheap hotel I found around the area. Miami is terrible.
