Actually, looks like this is the Millenium Hilton, The photo I saw that gave the impression was the MH, was in fact the view from the MH and a building on the opposite side of the river.
I boasts 500+ rooms, doesn't look that big to me, but looking at the Hilton website I think it is the same building.
The original article I remember was that Hilton had 2 new projects in Bangkok after pulling out of their original hotel a year or two ago.

It's directly across the river from the Sheraton Royal Orchid. I was on a dinner cruise a couple of weeks ago and was quite surprised to see the Hilton sign on it.
Could be wrong but seems to be a bit off the track to be useful for P4P girls sourced from the usual haunts. Might be interesting to see if some P4P develops around it.

Well I see yuppi is heads up as usual.
This is not the Millenium hotle, lof***inL, shows how much you know needle dick.
I know exactly where it is and that the architect was an avid startrek fan, hense the design of the retaurant on the top. By the way, some trivia for you yuppi to impress your collegues, the restaurant was supposed to be of the turning type, what you call that again 'evolving' or something. Well they put ballbearings in the thingamejings that were made from recycled car battery lead. They ate through the structure and the whole restaurant sank and settled on the rooftop, so it won't be evolving anyf***ingwhere yuppi.

This place was originally built by Sofitel and then went quiet after the crash and Hyatt and Hilton went after it and it will be a Hilton.

The real miracle will the the rebirth of that shopping centre on Ratchada with the two shells pointing skywards opposite (ish) Carrefour or the two large condo's that are 25 story shells on Pahon Yothin.

In the midst of all these love notes to each other, can I ask a question that has troubled me for...lo, these many years? 
When a building sits unattended and partially constructed for several years, does the salt air and weather affect the structural soundness of the building, assuming the concrete mix was satisfactory to begin with? 
I know there will be flames for this question but please remember that I have an olive branch firmly clinched between my butt cheeks especially for this eventuality.
