Omni is definetly worth the extra 200THBaht.
Both hotels are within a 2 minute walk of each other.
You can't go wrong with DGrande as it is new, clean and efficient. But my recommendation is the Omni.

Thanks for the reply bkkfella -- and yet I was thinking to jump the other way and go for the DG, since it's new and all, and some posts around about the Omni are saying some of the apartments are getting run down. Also my room at Omni would be a single studio at that price, which doesn't sound very big.
What is it you like about the Omni that makes it such a clear choice for you?

Book a night in the DI Grande then if you like it stay longer if not then checkout and move to the Omni.

Sorry for delayed reply.....
I like the Omni better because it is more complete. Both laundry machines and laundry service, minimart in lobby, 2 restaurants, excellent security, much nicer swimming pool IMO.... and good experiences there.
But you are right, some of the rooms have run down a bit..... and the DGSoi6 is brand spanking new.
I recall you said you had stayed at a DG before so a new experience seemed like a good suggestion for you in addition to my reasons above.
Try Omni for one night and see for yourself. If you get a drabby room, go to the frint desk and they will switch it for you... very service oriented place.

How far from Suk is this place? I usually stay at Landmark or JW due to the location. Is the quality about the same as Majestic Grande? Thanks for info.

The MG was not originally built as a hotel, so they were a little restricted in the layout when they decided to make it a hotel.

Does somebody know a website if the Dunasty Grande and if you can booke on line.
I would like to check this place out next time when i'm in BKK. Is this place the same as Dynasty inn ( soi 4 ) as for bringing girls without problems ( no walk of shame )

Have stayed in the soi 4 dynasty out of habit for years but the wife complains about the sperm marks and bacteria. Its girl friendly from what i;ve seen in their other establishments

Looks good for 1,800 BHT.
I personally do not spend large amounts of time in the hall-ways, so that is a minimal problem for me ( but each to their own).
Even at this price they are only JUST competitive with Swiss Grottino and in my opinion below Imperial Queens Park ( at 2,100 BHT ).
I hope, prey,, beg, plead, etc to have a trip in November to assess the situation and report back.
At this stage I KNOW the quality and service available at both Swiss Grottino and IQP so they remain my favourites.
