Mel, Thats exactly what I'm going to do... Will start of with 5 days at Unico Grand Suk Off to patters then for 10 days & then will finish off with 7 days at Centrepoint wireless. I see your point about not spending much time in the room, however, I like to be comfortable & have everything I do need when I am "entertaining" in my room! Also, my mates who live in bkk frequently drop by & we will have a few drinks / smokes in the room b4 heading out for the night! I used to stay at the manhattan when it was on offer at Asiarooms for 1050b / night but quite frankly although it is functional it is really shitty and your room is your solace - where you can do what the hell you like with whom you like!! Be there in a couple of weeks so detailed report will naturally follow....

Quote: from cris4700 on 5:08 pm on June 4, 2007 I know nothing except that $2200 is not fantastic for the area. I did go to the hotel today to check it out. It is very proffessional. If you can get that 1700 rate, I'm guessing it is pretty good. I didn't check out a room becuase I didn't want to pay the $2200
I stopped by earlier this week and had them show me the rooms and facilities - as you pointed out, the hotel is nice, new, clean and shiny. Very professional. The rooms are *very nicely* done up and decorated. The bathrooms are tiny (all rooms have more or less the same layout, and only differ by an additional 5 sq/m in the main room, bathrooms are all the same size, and some differ by being corner rooms, or not.. Most have crappy views onto other buildings or the Soi 1 neighborhood (not their fault, it's where they are located). All rooms have complementary internet. Their pool qualifies better as a jacuzzi - again, limited space. The proximity to Bumrungrad resulted also in a higher incidence of Black Ghost sightings in and around the hotel - a definite dealbreaker to me.

So, what you are saying is that you are paying nearly 2,000 for your 1,700 deal, since you forgot to add 7% VAT and 10% Service Fee, which all hotels add on. At that rate, not such a fantastic deal anymore, especially for the area they are located in.
