I decided to give this place a try,and I like it. Rooms are about the same size as Majestic Grande, but quality for furnishings slightly less, except for the 37 inch flat screen tv.
Bathrooms have separate tub and shower. The shower features a large ceiling-mounted head. There's a window next to the tub, with a sliding wall on the bedroom side, so you can soak in the tub while watching tv, although they neglected to put a speaker in the bathroom. Can also use the sliding wall to freak out the bar girls when they go in to shower (they hate this!).
Rooms have a nice hardwood floor, but the bathroom walls and floor are covered with cheap tile. A glass panel separates the shower and toilet, and undrained water seeps under the panel, leaving standing water around the toilet.
The biggest drawback is about a 10 minute walk to Sukhumvit, but there's a hotel tuk-tuk. Breakfast is comparable to Majestic Suites, and free wi-fi allows me to make this post from my room.
I booked online for 2300, an extra 200 gets you a balcony, not that there's anything to look at. If Majestic Grande was still going for 2600, I'd probably choose that for better location and breakfast, but at 3100, CitiChic is the better value IMHO.

I also like CitiChic. I could only get a Platinum Suite at the President Solitaire for two nights, so I switched to CitiChic (about two minutes' walk from PS if you go the back way). Stayed at CitiChic for four nights.
Here's the Web site for the CitiChic Hotel for more detailed info, prices and reservations. For comparison, here's the Web site for the Majestic Suites. I paid 2,500 baht a night at CitiChic for a Double Deluxe room with a small terrace. The same-sized room without terrace is 2,300 baht/night. The CitiChic only has those two types of rooms and the price includes breakfast for two. The MS has four types of rooms, ranging in price from 1,315 baht to 2,050 baht/night. The difference has to do with the size of the room, whether it has a bath tub and whether you get one or two breakfast coupons.
My room didn't have a bath tub, only a shower, but that might have been because it was a corner room on the ground floor, therefore with a bit smaller bathroom. I booked at the last minute and CitiChic was pretty full at the beginning of December, so I didn't argue the point.

Not having yet stayed at CitiChic.... from what I read and the pics I see, I tend to lean towards staying at Grottino.

staying here at present, I like it very much, I imagine walk is only a few minutes further than Town Lodge, havnt walked yet, as there is always a motor bike or the hotels Tuk Tuk. Pool is ok, little small, have dreadful green tiles, why anyone would have green tiles on the pool is a shocker. Have a luandry next door and internet free in the lobby
