still all over Thailand good prices for rooms ! its nice if you want ***** resort or ** bungaloo up to you !
hell Euro and N. American rates are way out of line !

In no particular order are the hotels which I have stayed in Bangkok over the last few years.
My first one was at Chitlom, I forget the name, I think that it is now a Holiday Inn.
Also I have stayed at JWM, Magestic Suites and the Landmark several times, City Lodge 19 3 times, Salil Soi 8, Livingstone Lodge, Westin, Grand Millenium and the Peninsula.
A butterfly with my hotels as well as the girls. 
Ultimately we all make our own decisions about hotels and girls, do you spend 6000 per night at the Hyatt or do you spend 1500 at City Lodge and have a Soapy sandwich up Ratchada.
Of course if you have won the lotto you can do what the f***ing hell you want
